Best Yet!
Can I just say that I LOVE this store?
I shop the "outside" (fruit/veggies, deli, meats, some dairy) and I find that it costs 1/2 as it would in Stop&Shop.
The best is that I don't have to deal with S&S evil little cretins who are always on their cell phones and/or having personal conversations with one another while you're trying to check out.
I also have been going at odd hours (i.e. last night around 8PM) and the store is empty.
S&S is right near my house, but after arriving 2 minutes before 7AM to the Starbucks this week, and having a b!tch wearing leggings as pants refuse to wait on me, then walk away AT 7AM to the other end of the store............I am thinking I need to boycott the store completely.

Love the Best Yet and The Best Market on sunrise in west islip-ish is the same company but - I think - a much nicer store!!! Love it there, I'm closer to Stop and Shop in Amity and Best Yet in Mass but I'd rather go to the Best Market....

Best Yet!
It's my new favorite, especially because they always have ripe avocados.

Re: Best Yet!
I shop at 3 different stop and shops (none by you though) and never have any experiences like that.I only shop there. The store you go to must be managed awfully. Glad you like the Best, that's one store I have not gone in yet (simply b/c I love the stop and shops I go to).

Best Yet!
You can't beat the Best Yet produce! Such a variety and half the price of S&S.

The Stop & Shop I referenced is the one in Amityville.
I think they are horrendous.
It's right around the corner from my house but I want to boycott them.
It's all the same people who have worked there forever, so I think the way they act comes from the top and will not change.
I am hoping that the Trader Joe's rumors I have heard about them coming to our area are true!!

Re: Best Yet!
I don't think a Trader Joe's is in our near future.. This is from The Patch
"Unfortunately, an additional Long Island store is not in our two-year plan as of now," Rachel Broderick, a customer relations representative for Trader Joe's told Patch in an email.

Unfortunately I think you are probably correct, especially with Aldi opening recently in Lindenhurst.
The same family that owns TJ's owns Aldi.

Re: Best Yet!
I've had my one horrendous stop and stop experience (you can search it here) but the stop and shop by my house has scan it, which I dont think i can live without! Wish all the supermarkets would get on board! (Do have a best yet nearby that I never shop in...going to have to check it out!).

I love best yet for produce. Unfortunately with an infant and hectic work schedule I've been doing a lot of peapod

Re: Best Yet!
I don't think there is a Best Yet near me. There isn't a shop rite either. I ehar good things about both. I do find stop and shop pricey and waldbaums just isn't good. I do most of my shopping at Fairway (Much cheaper than Stop and shop and waldbaums) and trader joes.
ETA: I just looked up where Best yet markets are and there is one not too far from my mother in laws house. Im going to check it out! Is it good for all groceries or should I stick to produce?

Best Yet!
Unfortunately, I hate the Best Yet in East Northport. I hear such good things about the others on the island. Every other time I go, the meat section has some old, gray, rotten meat for sale. This particular store is small and always crowded. It sucks too, b/c it's practically around the block from me.

The East Patchogue one is surprisingly good, but you really can't do a full shopping here.
