Skin to skin

Did any of you ladies do skin to skin and not breastfeeding? What was your experiences and where did u deliver?

Skin to skin can absolutely help BFing but it can otherwise just help you build a bond. They recommend guys do it too.

Just ask your OB to put them on your chest ASAP afterwards.

I did skin to skin when DD2 was born in February. I delivered at North Shore. I didn't breastfeed and skin to skin was an amazing experience.

I did not BF and I was pretty much made to do that. I was out of it, but the nurses made sure I did it.

They will typically just put the baby on your chest right away - what mother doesn't want to hold their baby as soon as possible?! I BF, but DH always does skin to skin with DD, even still at almost 11 weeks. FYI - the baby on your chest will stimulate milk production.
