3 yr old poop issue
DS has been potty trained since February, turned 3 in April. Once we started underwear, he hasn't been the best pooper. He went from good at least every other day to like 1-2 times a week. We have tried miralax and now powdered fiber, all at peds rec. The fiber was working well for a while, but seems to have stopped doing the trick. He'll stain his pants but not go. Or wait til he's about to go and I see him doing a dance and have to rush to bathroom. Anyone else having this issue? Tips, suggestions? Tia!

Re: 3 yr old poop issue
If you figure this out let me know. My 3 year old has been been doing the same thing since she went through a couple of weeks of being really constipated. She's afraid to poop because she's anticipating pain. We made her a "poopy chart" with 3 squares on it when she poops she gets to choose a sticker to put in a square. When all the squares have a sticker we take her out for ice cream. After each time she poops on the potty, she calls my mom and both my sisters and they tell her how proud they are of her for pooping on the potty. I taped the chart and page of stickers on the outside of the bathroom door as a reminder every time she walks by. We've brought her for ice cream twice so far. I also give her 1 teaspoon of miralax 3 to 4 times a week and fill her up with fiberous foods (I avoid foods that are binding). This seems to help force her to go otherwise she holds it in becoming further constipated. Even with all of these supports she only goes 1 to 3 times a week. She often poops in her pants instead of on the potty.

3 yr old poop issue
Dd is 2 1/2 and has been pee thrained fir about a month. Since then she went from going #2 once a day to like twice a week. She is definetly hesitant to do it on the potty even though she has gone a few times in the potty. We have tried everything. I just want her to get regular again. What are some foods that may help her go? Also I am hearing feom a ton of people how common this is. Hopefully one day soon it just clicks

High fiber/whole grain breads (Trader Joes spelted whole wheat fiber bread 1 slice 20% fiber) Fruit (strawberries, grapes, blueberries) Oatmeal (12% -16% fiber) High fiber granola bars (cascadian farms oatmeal raisin 12% fiber) Beans (refried beans for burritos, qusidillas...)
I try and stay away from bananas, white breads, apple sauce, rice and too much dairy etc.....

Re: 3 yr old poop issue
We used Miralax forever. At 5 yo he still has issues, only goes about 2-3x week. I try to load him up on fiber foods and watch the dairy.
