$8 to park at aquarium

We went to the aquarium in Riverhead this morning and they are now charging $8 to park in the lot a block and a half away.
(they said they charge for parking only between memorial day and labor day)

Really? We went on 6/18 (midweek) and they didn't charge. Is there a shuttle? I know it's not that far, but it's a long walk on a hot day.

I always park in the town lot along the water. It's free and you can walk along the water.

Re: $8 to park at aquarium

it's such bull crap. That lot used to be open and we parked there for more than just the Aquarium. Now they charge you. We just park on the surrounding street and walk.

Ridiculous! We park in the lot across the street from the gas station that is next to the aquarium.

There are several large municipal parking lots off Main Street within walking distance that are free. People don't realize this so they get suckered into paying the fee

We were just there yesterday and parked across the street in a municipal lot for free.

This makes me so mad! Especially since the fee is only enforced sometimes. It really bothers me that members have to pay

I agree! And honestly it's a pretty lame aquarium. My 2yr old DD was bored in 15 mins.

ITA.

I had to pay full price for tickets on Mothers day (my 1st time going) and more than half of the exhibits were closed!! So the ones that were open were so crowded and the entire outside was not even set up at all (except the pay more money to eat ice cream stand and the pay more money to see shows and the pay more money to ride on a boat). It took us like 30 minutes to see everything. It seemed like such a rip-off. If I have to pay full price for a ticket, everything should be open.
