Choosing a day to work from home
I go back to work in NYC at the end of this month. I put in a request to work 2 days a week from home but was only approved for 1. I was originally going to do tues and thurs but since I only get 1 day I was thinking wed so it breaks up the week. Dh is saying I should take either mon or fri but I don't know how that would be viewed. Thoughts?

Choosing a day to work from home
I do Fridays usually since I hate the Friday afternoon commute.
I have a friend who does Wednesdays though and loves how it breaks up the week.

What's your office like on Fridays? I would take Friday because my office is very quiet on Friday and a lot of upper executives work from home on Fridays, so I wouldn't be missed much at home.

This is what I would pick for the same reason.

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I did Monday's and it was awesome. I was able to enjoy the weekend with my family without worrying about getting back to work. and in between working, i was able to get some laundry done, and do a little straightening up after the weekend.

Same here. Mondays are generally busy with meetings and what not, so I'd want to be in the office that day. Fridays are generally quiter with others working from home as well.

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I choose Thursday because I felt Monday and Fridays would be viewed as taking advantage - Although I like Wed. better to break up the week by default I took Thursday -
I will admit I do like Thursdays.....

I only work 4 days a week with Wednesday being my day off and it's perfect for me. I love that I get to spend extra time with DS mid week and I never have to work more than 2 days in a row.

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I work from home on Thursdays. I couldn;t do monday too busy for me and I didn't want to do Friday because then too much would build up before/over the weekend and make monday's rougher than they need to be. Thursdays are a good random day and in my office not as busy as the others so i can get stuff done but no real pressure.

Choosing a day to work from home
When I worked FT, I worked from home Wednesdays & Fridays. Mon & Tues were too busy to be out and Thursdays were deadline days usually. I chose Fridays for sure bc I hated the commute on Fridays.
Now I work PT and from home 3 days/week.

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I no longer work on Fridays. I have been doing this for over a year and it works great for me. My colleagues work very late but most leave early on Friday. I love 3 day weekends all year. I also work one day from home and I was supposed to pick one day and stick with it. That is too hard for me to do due to meetings, etc so now I just WFH on whatever day works for me. (Usually weds)

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I work from home on Wednesdays and I love it. It totally breaks up the week because I never have to go in more than two days in a row. It's also the slowest day of the week at my job, so it works out perfectly.

Choosing a day to work from home
I'm allowed to work fom home 2x a week for a short time. I choose wed and Fridays for many of the same reasons listed above.

Re: Choosing a day to work from home
I would choose Thursday or Friday. There are a lot of Monday holidays so if you get off on those days anyway, no sense in making that day at home.
