Roseola?
DS developed a fever of almost 103 on Tuesday night - no other symptoms and was completely happy and full of energy. Saturday morning the fever was gone and he got a rash on his torso and face. Dr. said it's probably Roseola. Weird thing is, since the rash started he has been tired and very irritable. Everything I read says the rash is not uncomfortable but its the only thing I could think of to explain the crankiness. I don't know what to do to soothe him. Anyone have an experience with this or any advice? TIA

Roseola?
When DD1 had roseola she was tired and unhappy while she had the high fever but was fine once she got the rash. I think the rash went away in a day or two. Sorry I am no help.

Re: Roseola?
When my DS had it was a hellish week and half. Had every single symptom. A full week of a fever over 103. (for a kid with history of febrile seizure). He was on Tylenol and Motrin every few hours for a week. The runs.. you name it. He was SOOO Cranky throughout.
Then the fever broke and about 12 hours later he got the rash. The doctor told me it was over and that he should be fine. Nope. He was miserable!!! Not itchy but, the crankiest child ever. For several more days.
So I am sure he is still feeling bad. I would give motrin.

Re: Roseola?
My DD had this when she was a bit younger and was miserable from like the 2nd day of the fever onward... after the fever broke there was still I'd say 2-3 days of her napping a ton and being all clingy/cranky etc.
