Potty trained and suddenly having accidents again
Anyone else deal with this with their child? My son is almost 3.5 and has been fully potty trained for about 2.5 months now- pee, poop, overnight, the whole shebang. In the past week or so, he's suddenly been peeing a lot more (he'll have long stretches where he'll be peeing like every hour), and has also been having accidents in his bedroom, mostly right after he wakes up. He does sometimes have to go during the night, but since he's been trained, he will always call us in the middle of the night and we come get him and bring him to the potty and then he goes right back to bed. in the past week, he's had 4 accidents, 3 of which happened on his rug just after he woke up (one time he called out for me once and said he had to pee but the monitor was scanning between his room and his brother's room and happened to be on his brother at the time, so he peed on the rug). Then, he wet his bed last night at some point. He wasn't drenched when he woke up this morning, so I don't know exactly when it happened. Is this a normal phase to go through? Anyone have any thoughts? At what point do we put in a call to the pediatrician? TIA!

Has he been getting extra fluids because it has been hot? It could be that he is drinking more and he can't keep up with it..

No not really. Not enough to make this much of a difference.

Re: Potty trained and suddenly having accidents again
We went through a period like that but he was having accidents either at nap time or if he was busy playing. I would remind him after he had an accident that big boys don't have accidents. It seemed to only last a week. Not sure what caused it.
My son pees a lot, sometimes 10 times in 1.5 hrs. He drinks tons of fluids but for him its whenever he has a potty available, he uses it constantly. We just did a 6 hr car trip & we stopped only once & he had no issue. I think its a control thing for him.

Re: Potty trained and suddenly having accidents again
I have potty trained all 3 kids. The only one that ever had any accidents after training ended up being diagnosed with diabetes. She was drinking a ton more causing her to have a few accidents. It's something I would probably bring up at the next doctors appointment. But I have had a few friends that have dealt with accidents for no known reasons. Some kids don't potty train until 4, so I am sure accidents at that age are still common.
