no bumpers... but what about her head
So i get why we cant use bumpers in the crib and I haven't... but DD is constantly rolling over and bumping her head into the crib rails. I hate it. She's only rolling one way for now so I put her close to the edge of the crib when I first lay her down, but she moves all around in her sleep and I still manage to find her head squished up against the bars... Is there anything we can do about this?? Is this driving anybody else crazy??!!

It doesnt sound like she's waking up, so its probably not bothering her. I don't think they roll over with enough momentum to really hurt themselves. My DD prefers to sleep squished up against the bars so maybe yours does too?

we HAD to put them back... DD was waking up every single night with limbs stuck, screaming. I tied them on the OUTSIDE of the crib

I never used them. DS is constantly bumping into the sides. He never screams from it and he has hit his head much harder when he falls or throws a tantrum so I never worried about the crib.

I had breathable ones but had to put the regular bumpers in when DS started to roll over and kept hitting his head, waking up. Maybe by 6 months or so? No issues thus far...

Mine fall asleep on the rails and on toys. Doesnt bother them. I just more them when they are asleep b/c it cant be comfy for long.

My dd likes to sleep right up against the bars... Like head jammed in there... I added a soft plush bumper... No worries here... I believe the risk of SIDS drops dramatically after 6 months... It's all about what you are comfortable doing...

Ditto! They can't seriously injure themselves by rolling intothe bars. And it's only a short phase before they learn better body control!

My DC always wedge themselves up against it, no big deal, doesnt seem to bother them. IMO, a bump on the head will heal if it leaves a mark at all, you can't turn back time so I wont risk SIDS if there is something I can do to possibly significantly cut the risk.
Which, as is commonly misunderstood, IS NOT THE SAME as suffocation, if the baby were to roll against the bumpers.

I wasn't worried about DS bumping his head, but he started to put his arms outside/between the rails and that's when we started using breathable (mesh) bumpers. Gives DS some cushion against the rails but allows him to breathe. And now he can't stick his arms out anymore! I was afraid they'd get stuck and he'd try rolling.

DD bumped into or would sleep up against the bars of the crib. It never bothered her too much, but if it's becoming an issue and hindering sleep I think you should do what you have to do.
Personally, if I was going to use bumpers I would try to have a fan going in the room to keep circulating the air.

I just put their real bumpers in once we felt confident that they wouldnt get trapped or stuck. My babies still managed to get limbs stuck between the bars once they smooshed the breathable bumpers down :-/ go figure

I use a breathable mesh bumper because DD kept getting an arm or leg stuck between the crib slats. She rolls into the slats all the time, but she's not rolling with enough momentum to hurt herself, so I don't sweat it.

I used bumpers when the kids were able to roll from back to belly. Figured they won't get stuck to suffocate.
