Would this bother you?

Just wondering if this would bother anyone else or is it just me. I went out to dinner with family of about 12 for a birthday party. It was 9pm and my one year old was breaking down because she was tired. She was crying about little things and my aunt says, "wow she is bad news." I was sooo mad, I called her out on it and she said I'm overly sensitive. What do you think? I'm still mad and hurt about it.

That's kind of a rude comment, I would've been a little put off. I think it's asking a lot of any kid to be out at 9 pm. My DD is almost 5 and she HAS to be in bed by 8 or she starts losing it. It's a long day with no naps and she just hits the wall at a certain point. I think her comment was really uncalled for. Chat Icon

Its an obnoxious comment. Babies get cranky when they're tired, doesn't mean they are "bad news" lol

Stupid comment... But I'd just let it go... Or say something like "I'm cranky too past my bedtime!"

Unbelievable. Very rude! I guess she never had kids.

Thanks for all your responses. She doesn't have kids. Now I am expected to make right by her for getting upset about the comment. Again because I am too sensitive.

no way, the comment was rude and you called her out on it, done. Why is it okay for her to be rude to you but you can't react? I think it should be over now, tit, tat done, do not 'make right by her'. She wants to dish it, she should take it Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'd be annoyed and probably say something to the fact...I think she is doing well considering it is x amount of hours past her bedtime.

Totally rude and I'd be annoyed. I would have said something to her just like you did. And there's no way in helle I'd apologize. Nobody calls my kid bad news but me!
