DS is 21 months. He was prescribed glasses last November. Day to day it is still very iffy as to how long he will keep them on. He is in day care 2 days a week and they do not put his glasses on at all. They claim it is a choking hazard for the other children. The other 3 days he is with a family member who has her own kids. She asked about the glasses and I told her if she can but nit to stress it.
I know I am mostly to blame for problems with him keeping them on.
But now a few of the kids have sunglasses. DS is starting to put them on and play with them. I am thinking about getting him another pair of glasses that are sunglasses but am afraid that he will still think of them more as a toy. But I need to do something to get him to wear his glasses.
To moms whose D 's wear glasses what would you suggest?

I have a strap for his glasses but he still pulls his glasses off an pulls the strap off the ear piece. Takes him about 30 seconds.
