Tummy time

Do they ever like it? Dd screams and cries like I'm murdering her whether it be on a mat, blanket or boppy and all she does is lick it. She is 7w and has great head control and loves lying on her tummy on me.

Re: Tummy time

My DD is 11 weeks and only likes tummy time for a certain period of time before she cries. I've been having her play on her back on her activity mat and then after a while I turn her over for tummy time. I have a stand up mirror she can look at herself with. She's gotten better and will do tummy time for almost 10 minutes before screaming. I'm finding that the reason she screams is because she can't go anywhere yet. She moves her feet and will move a little bit but then gets frustrated. I think the more they do it the more they will begin to like it.

Re: Tummy time

DS was like that when he was that age. Now he's almost 5 months old and when I put him on his back he rolls right onto his belly. Easier to see the world, I guess! He also sleeps on his belly now. Their preferences change very quickly.

Tummy time

im not sure if it was here or somewhere else, but someone suggested for me to flip dd onto her tummy after diaper changes - for just a minute or two. That helped a lot.

Tummy time

DS used to HATE tummy time and cry like someone was killing him if I tried to put him on his belly. Then he went through a period of time where he would pass out when I put him down for tummy time. Then he learned to roll from back to belly, but not belly to back and would roll immediately when put down, but then scream. Now he loves his belly and sleeps on his belly at night.

They will change preferences. Have her do tummy time on your belly and for a minute or two at a time on the floor. She'll get used to it!!
