7 day virus?

Has anybody's DC had a virus for a week plus Where the only symptoms were high fever (102-105), lethargy and no appetite?

My DD (7 yo) has been sick since last week. Urine culture and chest x-ray came back negative. We just did a 2nd urine sample today, but the initial test came back negative. The blood work results won't be available until tomorrow morning.

The MD thinks this may just be a stubborn virus, but I'm having a hard time grasping that idea being that no one else in our household has caught this. Plus my DD has a history of UTIs. She had surgery to correct it well over a year ago and hasn't had a UTI since. Both my DH and I think her symptoms are consistent with her past UTIs. In one case during her UTI history, her urine came back negative and we tested again later and it came back positive.

I asked my DD if anybody had been absent from class the week she was there trying to figure out if something is going around and she stated no.


Has anybody's DC just had a fever for a length of time and then it went away???

7 day virus?

My DS had a stomach virus last week - 5 days of loose stool, no appetitie.

My Ped said that there are currently 8 different viruses going strong right now.

Hope she feels better soon...

DS had it two weeks ago. 4 days of high fever (102-104) and lethargy. He was fine otherwise.

On day 5, rash all over and then he was fine. May be something similar.

eta - was she tested for strep?
