Did you bath them in the hotel bathtub? It kinda skeeves me out. Chat Icon and she's not ready for a shower.
We're going to lake George so it's not even like it's a nicer hotel.
Just wondering if it's me out if other people feel the same. I'm debating on taking one of those blow up tubs with me.

We recently came back from DR and had a standing shower only so we bathed her on the floor in there. I really didn't think twice about it. But then again, not too much skeeves me... I am sure your child will be fine in the tub, but if you think it's going to bother you, bring the blow up tub... I almost packed one with me but it was just too much extra stuff.

If its clean enough for me then it's fine for my DS. Would never even think to bring anything.

We have been on 5 trips already with ds and always bathed him where we were

At that age I would hold her in the shower. She never minded it. But I've also given her baths as hotels too. I never would bring anything.
Now at 2, she loves showering with me.

What about packing bleach or something and cleaning it yourself when you check in? That way you'll know it's clean.

Good question. I haven't been to a hotel with dd yet, but it skeeves me too thinking about. I'd do a blowup tub!

In a motel 8 prob not- but when we've stayed at big chains. - like Marriott or Hilton - I have given all 3 of my kids baths at some point and never thought twice!

I would bring the blow up tub, especially at a place like that. Those hotels are usually so outdated, rusty, etc. and I would be skeeved too. Huge difference between showering in a potentially dirty tub and taking a bath in one.

You could also just put a towel down so she's not sitting directly on the tub.

I've never had a problem with bathing kids in tubs on vacation.

Old tubs are still clean, if cleaned!

Crashing with a question. For those that have traveled with a younger one like 5-6 months. How do you go about giving baths while away? If its in driving distance do you bring a tub or what?

To answer OP I stood with DS in the shower and bathed him.
For a 5-6 month old, I went to Boston when DS was about 5 months and I held him in the shower . The tub sleeves me out and I wouldn't lay him in it

I'm going to cape cod. First time staying with family. Second time to a hotel. We have never bathed her in a big tub before. Chat Icon

i get skeeved out easily so i would bring my own tub but only if i was driving.

when DD was 5 months old we drove to Florida to visit family i bought a fold bath tub and brought it with me simply because i knew it would be easiest to bath her in it.

We went a few places without tubs (cabins in Maine and Montauk) so I just brought her old baby tub and we used that. It's a little messy from all the splashing but no way was she ready for a shower last year.

Just bathe in the tub. I am not skeeved out by places cause if it was really that nasty I wouldn't have stayed myself.

I stayed at Montauk Manor over the weekend(my boss owns the unit) and the br didn't have a tub. Tiny Tot is 10 1/2 months and took her first shower with me Chat Icon

She sat on the shower floor for a bit while I did my thing. I cleaned her up while she was down there. Most of time I held her so the water could hit her face. She had a blast Chat Icon

We always bring an inflatable tub, only b/c it's easier for me.

If you're comfortable bathing them in the tub, I don't see why you shouldn't.

Re: vacationing with a 1 year old-stupid question

We went away with DD when she was 16 mo and we just gave her a shower. Hotel tubs skeeve me out too much. I wouldn't take a bath in one myself so I certainly wouldn't put my kids in one. I had DH help me and I just held DD and we quickly washed her in the shower. She wasn't thrilled with it but it was over pretty fast.
