baby food - how long is it good for once it's opened?
I generally make all of dd's baby food, but she's really picky, so I've been buying her some mixtures to try, before wasting my time making it myself. the pouches say once they are opened, refrigerate and use within 24 hours. new flavors that i'm trying to get her used to, she only eats a little bit at a time and i'm throwing so much out. does it really only stay good for 24 hours??

Not sure about the pouches but jars say use within 2-3 days of opening. Maybe if you put whatever you are not using into pyrex or something like that it would last longer.

I do put it in a bowl with a lid in the fridge... and I would think it would be okay for a few days but haven't chanced it... yet lol

Can you do smaller jars or something? I know those pouches are big so I havent bought any yet!

dd is apparently the pickiest eater in creation... she won't eat ANY fruit I've tried - so I found some pouches that are just 2 veggie mixtures, to get some different tastes in (sweet potato beet; pumpkin spinach & carrot broccoli) and to see if she'll eat some different veggies before I make them myself. if she likes them, I can make them myself, and the frozen ice cube portions are much smaller. it's just when i'm trying these new things. like tonight, I gave her some of my homemade sweet potatoes that I know she likes, and would give a little sweet potato/beet mixture each time, so she gets used to the taste. i'll do it again tomorrow, but the amount in the pouch definitely won't be gone yet, but does it really need to go in the trash within 24 hours, kwim?
I haven't found any 2-veggie mixtures with these "different" veggies in any other capacity. I scour the shelves at every store I go to that sells baby food lol
