2 year old snoring???
Ds is almost 2 and he sometimes snores or breathes very loud when sleeping! He uses a pacifier but it is usually out of his mouth after falling asleep. I am going to tell the ped at his 2 year well visit. Does anyone else have a toddler that does this? Will the doctor say its not a big deal or will they tell us to go to an ENT? Thanks

2 year old snoring???
we were already seeing an ENT for my son but he was snoring since the day he was born plus he almost seemed to stop breathing in his sleep at times.
the ENT recomended taking his tonsils out at 2 and his sleeping changed majorly - he already had adenoids out at 15 months and tubes put in - but once he had the tonsils out - you barely hear him sleep, he sleeps so much more sounder (only downfall was he could not wake to pee for a long time ), he went from 50% in height to 80% in height in less than 6 months - it changed a lot for him just being better rested
it was a tough decision to do just for sleeping reasons but looking back at how everything changed for him, I know it was the best decision I made

Re: 2 year old snoring???
My neice snored like a chainsaw from the time she was little. A few years ago - she is now 10 so maybe when she was about 6 or 7- they finally got a doctor to agree that it wasn't right and she ended up with her tonsils and adnoids removed. Apparently her adnoids were VERY large (my brother sent me a picture..nice, thanks Big Bro...and yeah, I guess those were big ).
She sleeps so much better now.

2 year old snoring???
My niece had her tonsils removed a couple years ago when she was 7 cause she snored all the time and now she sleeps so much better. Her ENT recommended a sleep study for her to determine if she needed her tonsils removed.

Thanks everyone! My son does wake up 1-2 times a night so maybe this is why.

Re: 2 year old snoring???
DS was snoring at 4 months - exH told doc, they weren't concerned - I was. I recorded it on my cell phone and played it back for the doc. They sent us to the ENT - all was okay though.

2 year old snoring???
My 19 month old DS snores like a grown man and breathes through his mouth. Ped was never worried, but I finally insisted on going to an ENT. We went last week and his adenoids are blocking 95% of his airway!!!
We are trying a prescription to shrink his adenoids and tonsils but the dr. has already prepared me that because his case is so severe he will prob need both out and tubes. I am still in shock. I don't want my baby to have surgery but if it will help him I will do it.
I will also add he is only in the 3rd% of weight because he doesn't drink milk or really anything. ENT said he was not surprised because he can't breathe out of his nose. I'm glad we brought him to the ENT.
