When to start water?
We just started DD on solids June 1. My nanny said that I need to start giving her water too. Is this true? I'll be calling my ped later today, but figured I'd ask here as well.

our ped had us wait till after 6 months- before that they can get toxicity

I give them about an ounce to wash down the food and hopefully avoid constipation. They are 6 months and just started solids too.

When to start water?
Ped also told us after 6 months. Even now at 8 months maybe she will have a few sips.

When to start water?
Our PED said we could start at 6 months but DS didn't really take to it until closer to 10 months because he didn't really "get" the sippy cup for awhile. I started offering it at 6 months but he only got a sip here and there.

Around 6 months when my DD was on table food I would give her some water in a sippy cup so she could practice holding and drinking from it. It's okay for them to have a little water starting pretty early, at my DS 2 month visit they said he could have a few ounces of water a day if we wanted to give it to him.

6 mo in a sippy cup. They havent mastered it yet and yell at the sippy cup so Im not pushing it. I give an oz on hot days in a bottle. Twin 1 likes it. Twin 2 is like "where's the good stuff"?
