Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
DD is 3 weeks old and I would like to start introducing a bottle of breast milk within the next week. My question is what's the best way to do this? Is there a certain bottle I should try first that would make the transition easier? I only plan to give her an occasional bottle for now.

Re: Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
all babies react differently to bottles the first bottle i gave to DD she was about 2 weeks old and i just gave her the bottle that came with my madela pump. she took it with no problem (shes also taken the nursettes of formula with the disposable nipples without trouble).
i tried many bottles (dr browns, avent, similac simply start) and DD still takes the madela pump bottles and the playtex ventaire the best
good luck!

Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
I would start with anything you already have. Some babies are pickier than others and those that are picky have different preferences. We struggled at first and DD couldn't latch on the avent so I bought tommy tippee and she did great with them. Some won't take a bottle when their mom is around but that was never an issue for us.

Re: Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
A LC told me to watch this. DH is the one giving DD bottles and he refuses to use this method, but it makes sense to me. Paced Bottle Feeding
DD1 took Dr. Browns bottles no problem, but DD2 is having a hard time (according to DH). We are going to try a different bottle and see if it is better for her.

Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
We gave DS a bottle at 5 weeks. We used Tomme Tippe no problem taking it but he got bad gas afterwards. We switched to Avent and haven't had any problems since. I was able to have DH offer him a bottle 1-2x a week and stll BF with no problem. At 12 weeks he went to daycare full time and got 4 bottles a day and I would nurse at home

Question about introducing a bottle for BF baby
We used the bottles that came with the breast pump after 4 weeks or so. No issues at all. Then we used Dr. Brown's as our regular bottle once DS weened from BF at around 5 months.
