wording HELP

Want to say NOT to bring gifts for my 3 year old's birthday party... we've really got enough stuff & I think it's overwhelming to get stuff that we probably won't use. He will likely get a present from the grandmas & us.

SO... how do I PHRASE it...

After the RSVP #,
I have:

"Please NO gifts (your presence is gift enough)!"

Is that good?
TIA!

yes..that's fine or just reword it to "your presence is present enough, no gifts please"..either one is good!

That's much nicer.

THANNNNNKKKKK YOU!

I know people may still bring gifts. I'm hoping to minimize it.

I like this better - with the all caps "NO" it feels a little like getting yelled at Chat Icon

Do you think your DC will be sad not to get any gifts? That's the fun part of it being a birthday!

What about letting him choose a few he wants to keep and then donating the rest to the needy? Just an idea. It lets him enjoy getting gifts, but also teaches him that other people aren't as lucky as he is.

Awww! Thanks for your concern... No, I'm not doing no gifts at all...

I'd love to keep it at a few gifts from close family members (will be given on his actual birthday).

The party will have approx 10 kids & their parents. Just don't want an extra 10 things.

Donation is a great idea (going to a party this weekend where the request is donate in lieu of gift)... but he just won't get it at 3 & his level of maturity. You should see him try to share with his sister!

I hope it works...
