DD's shar-pei neck
DD has neck rolls, as many babies do. I guess from all of the drooling, she's very red in the folds of the rolls. Really, really red. Has anyone else dealt with this? Someone told DH to use A&D. Anything you suggest to both soothe and prevent it? Your advice is much appreciated.

Re: DD's shar-pei neck
I used to LOAD them up with aquaphor....also make sure you dry all parts of it as often as possible.

I used a tiny bit of powder. I dabbed it on with my fingers. I felt it cleared up super fast!

I used Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom balm. It's expensive $13 for 2oz (lasts a long time) and organic - if you care. Anyway - two days gone.

I used cornstarch. I applied it with a q-tip and it worked really well.

Re: DD's shar-pei neck
If it is very red it could be a yeast infection or fungal infection. Lots of babies get them in their neck folds. The doctor usually prescribes a topical anifungal.

My ped suggested cortisone when it got really red and had a foul smell. DD got it last summer

This is what my mom told me to do too. We do it after baths, in the mornings, after we pick him up from daycare and before bed.
