double stroller recommendation ... should i even get one

so DD is almost 2.5 she has never really been a stroller baby till of course now when im expecting baby #2 in November Chat Icon
if i take the stroller out its no longer a fight for her to go in she goes in all on her own cause she wants too.

Right now i own a snap and go, city mini and i never got rid of my chicco litway stroller ( i have the one that fully reclines). I also just picked up a glider board for the city mini in hopes DD will use this sometimes.

I rarely take DD out to any stores nowChat Icon Chat Icon with another one coming i am def. not taking both out or either to stores Chat Icon Chat Icon

I figure when I'm with DH he could push one stoller and i could push the other.

But im thinking about those times when i am not with DH ( i have way more vacation then he does so I tend to take days off without him and take DD places plus he works saturday sometimes) and we may go to the zoo or somewhere where this a lot of walking and DD may just want to sit. Esp. now since everytime the stroller is out she wants to be in one plus i have a feeling when she see DC #2 in the stroller she is going to want ot be in one too.

So would you get a double stroller if so which one. I m leaning towards a city mini maybe used if i can get one but i dont know if i can justify the money since i wont probably be using it all the time.

I would get a double. For exactly the reason you stated. My DD was all about the stroller once she saw my DS in it and now that they are 2 and 4 i have moved to a single and my DD screams about wanting a double!! I can't win.

I wasn't going to get one (we have the Uppababy with the rumble seat), but when DD2 came I decided I wanted one. DD1 is turning 2 next week. The rumble seat is fine for quick in and out of stores, but is not comfortable for any length of time, so I wanted a true double.

We did a lot of research and looking and decided on the Bumbleride Indie Twin. We had it narrowed down to that one and the city mini double. We chose the Bumbleride because I like that the footrest adjusts (DD laid totally flat in it yesterday and fell right out), and I like that you can access the basket from the back (unlike the city mini). The bumbleride is a lot heavier, but with the car seat attachment is the same weight as the city mini.

My advice is to do some online comparison shopping (check out pishposhbaby.com - they have good advice) and then go to BBB and look at the strollers.

We bought the 2012 model which was a lot less than the 2013 model and they took the 20% off coupon even though it said the brand was excluded, so definitely try to use one.

GL!

I got a Joovy X2. It's cheaper than Citi mini double & good for using occasionally.

DS is almost 3 & DD is 1.5 ... and most times, we take the citi single & carry the other one. DD likes the ergo, so is often in this. We use the cheaper double for zoos, walks, festivals & the like. Honestly, most of the time... I have them both walk.

If I were to be using a stroller everyday, I'd do a citi double or the Bumbleride.

Dd fought me about her strier for 2/3 yrs of her life. She hates it. We are in the city of Boston. No way she could all the time so it was a huge tantrum every time to get in. All of the sudden at 2/12 and Preggo with #2 she wanted to be IN it. Can't get her out.
Dh convinced me to not get one. I finally said ill wait until after the baby to see how dd1 does. Well one weekend we had the single and dd wanted to be carried. I can't hold her so dh had to. He was not happy. We ordered one soon after. I'm a sham and walk a lot.
We got the britax bready and love it. Makes my life easy. It's heavy but it's a double but not a true wide double.

this is the thing i feel like it will be rarely used i will most likely only use it when i am not with DH. cause when I am i will probably use the singles.

I was worried about the same thing. I got the greco double. It has an option for sit or stand but it has two full seats too where some of them don't.

Yeah. I tried the Joovy. With the thought that if I REALLY used it so much, I'd buy another one. It sits in my garage. I do use it for: Bronx zoo & some festivals. In fact, when we went to Disney, we went WITHOUT any stroller (and it was OK).

Go with your gut. Joovy is good enough. I got it for well under $200. BBB with coupon & open box.
