Beach vacation with a baby...
Where have you gone? We're probably looking at mid-October so I guess we would be most likely to go down to the Caribbean... any suggestions? Any places that are more family friendly than others you have been and liked?
Thanks!

CJ is going for his first bday! Small possibility he will go with us in November, but Grandma and Grandpa will probably be watching him.
My sister has gone with all 3 kids and her youngest was probably 6 months one time when they went.
I would recommend seeing if you can get an unbooked timeshare room at the Marriott Ocean Club or Surf club... then you will have a full kitchen which is helpful with a baby!

Beach vacation with a baby...
We took DD to Puerto Rico when she was about 6 months. It was ideal bc she didn't need a passport. We stayed at the Ritz and it was very family friendly.

We just took our 10 month old to Atlantis Bahamas. VERY family friendly but I don't suggest it with an infant. It's expensive and they can't use all the amentities like the water park and such.
Just posting so if Atlantis was on your list - cross it off.
eta: I would just go with the cheapest all-inclusive.

This exactly! My IL's have a timeshare at Marriott Ocean Club. Have been going every year since DS1 was 9 months old. Very kid friendly. Beach is very calm, lots of activities, kids, pool, etc. Best part is the room has a full kitchen and den area.

We are also planning a vacation for mid-October in the Caribbean. We are looking at using our timeshare for St. Maarten.

Where are you staying?? We were going to do Disney but we're going to save that for his first birthday... I'm also hoping he'll grow some hair by then so I can get his hair cut at the barber on Main Street

Re: Beach vacation with a baby...
We recently went to Atlantis in the Bahamas, SO family friendly. TONS to do. A million places to eat. All without ever having to leave the resort.
Also, they have lagoons roped off on the resort property so you can go in the water and not have to worry about the ocean since its shallow.

I agree with this Atlantis review. Was there last week. Kids loved the zero entry pool, cove beach and lagoon, but both kids (almost 3 and 1.5) couldn't really enjoy much else there. Teens and older kids would get more out of the water park.
My big advice would also be to check on rainfall. It poured the whole time we were there. Every day, most of the day. It was just the transition time to the start of rainy season (June through October). Maybe we were unlucky.
The rooms were ok. We stayed in a nicer room at Royal tower. The service level was ok.
For the $$$, so not worth it, especially with a small child. Will not go back. Will go to Aruba, PR, and Turks and Caicos instead (and spend less $).

Beach vacation with a baby...
We just took DS to Barbados. He was just a little shy of 5 months. Very kid friendly. Lots of babies/toddlers at the resort; and around the island. Went to a local fish friday one night and lots of babies in carriers and strollers.

Totally agree. DH and my FIL get up early to get the palapas each morning till we are able to reserve for a few days. LOL Beach is so much nicer there and much faster to get to the beach. Surf is nice and all, but way to big. I even like the look of the timeshares better than the Surf. DH and I will do the 90 min presentation just to get some money for dinners or something. Although they no longer sell at surf and now it's just time. A whole new thing. Aruba is the place where everyone comes back and we usually see the same pple each year. We do find friends at Surf so we can do the lazy river and slide.
