Question about dry skin

DD is a week and a half old. I am BFing and she constantly has her hands in her mouth, especially around feeding time. Because of this her hands are now very dry and her skin is peeling. Is there anything I can do for it?

Question about dry skin

I think dry skin that early is very normal. I wouldn't put anything on them since it will end up in her mouth. I never put any lotion on DD in the first few months and she had great skin.

Re: Question about dry skin

DS & DD both had dry peeling skin on their hands until they were 5 or 6 weeks old. I think it's a newborn thing. I left it alone and it went away. They both have perfect skin.

Re: Question about dry skin

Almost all newborns have dry skin like that, no need to put anything on it. It will go away soon.

Re: Question about dry skin

Thanks for the responses. I will let it be and hopefully it will clear up on its own.

Question about dry skin

Don't put anything on it. My lo cleared up within 2w. It started on hands but spread to whole body. They mulch if that's the word like a snake.
