Transitioning from breastmilk to formula

I don't plan on breast feeding for too long and I can't imagine that I will be able to pump enough to exclusively feed her breast milk. How exactly would you transition from breast milk to formula?

i actually put a little formula in with my bottle of breast milk...this way the supply i have will last longer and also she gets a taste of it

maybe do that first with mostly breast milk/a little formula and then over time add more formula and less breastmilk until its all formula?
i really have no idea if that is the right way to do it or not (my ped suggested mixing the two but that was bc i was telling her i have 3oz bags of milk and shes taking 4oz bottles)

I am going through this so not sure that I have alll the answers yet, but here's my experience:

- we started with 1 bottle per day of formula to see how she would take it. She ate it no problem, did not seem to notice a difference in taste.

- have heard from a lot of others that you may need to try different formulas, so we started about 2 weeks before I went back to work in case we needed to change up.

-She did 1 bottle of formula for a few weeks and then we upped it to 2-3 bottles per day. I was freezing any extra I had but I was pumping less since I was back at work.

-I am now weaning off pumping and we are now doing about 4-5 bottles per day formula and using frozen milk. We will keep increasing for the rest of the week or so until the stash is gone. Then it will be straight formula

She has been gassy this past week but not sure if it's related to the increase in formula or not?

I saw Similac has a supplementation formula. Wonder what that's all about?
