sunscreen for baby

Do you put sunscreen on your baby everyday?

Like if she's wearing a tank, do you cover her arms and shoulders with sunscreen for the summer?

Yes! I do it for myself, so she gets the same. I'm not a fan of the sun, but I have fair skin, and so does dd

Re: sunscreen for baby

I guess I should mention that DD has very fair skin and it's sensitive. We use eczema cream all winter and limit her baths to just 2 a week. I'm not fair skin like her so it's never been an issue for me.

DS is the same, very fair and sensitive skin. we use Babyganics sunscreen almost every day (he LOVES to be outside) with no problems.

I dont if we are outside for a short while (running errands, to and from the car type stuff) but I do if we are going to be playing at the park.

Re: sunscreen for baby

Pretty much every morning - She goes to daycare and they go outside unless it's raining. They actually sent a letter home asking parents to put sunscreen on the kids every morning. On weekends, I only do if we're going to be outside. I don't if we're going to be running errands or something like that.

DS is not a baby he's 4 but we have to send sunscreen for him to have at school. The teachers lather than up twice a day before going out for playtime. If we are going to be out for more than 15 minutes than yes.

DS has sensitive skin as well. Look up EWG's website for the best sunscreen to use.

I feel your pain !!! My son is super fair and has very sensitive skin too. I recently wrote to sunblock companies to get samples to test on him. Many were willing to send a small sample. Maybe try that too instead of buying a huge tube. Good luck.

I would put it on any time we go outside. Theres one that is in a stick shape. That one works well on the face.

only if we are going to be in direct sunshine for prolonged periods of time. the sun provides vitamin D, which is actually good for you. plus, i am not sold on the "safety" of even the so-called safest of sunscreen brands.

Same here.

I do try to limit her time in the sun, especially in the middle of the day. I'm sure as summer hits and we're outside more I'll put it on her more frequently and likely give her baths every night to wash off the sweat and sunblock. The eczema foundation site actually recommends short daily baths and then immediately moisturizing so I'll probably follow that.
