I will never judge another parent ever again
Dh and I were those childless people who judged parents. I apologize. I will never do that again. And we only have a 4w old.
We swore we'd never take out child out to public places before she was 2 months. Mine was out by 4 days. Would have been sooner but Dh vetoed the idea.
We would never co sleep. She's been in our bed since day 1 and now working on bassinet transition.
We always got annoyed when our friends were late bc of kids. I can't get anywhere on time no matter how much we plan.
I would not be in pjs all day and my house would never get dirty and my child wi not hang out in a diaper
If it wasn't for Dh our house would be a mess, most days unless I know we are going out or someone coming over I'm in pjs and lo runs hot so she is currently in a diaper
And the list goes on and on. I am sorry for all my judging.

Hey, you never really "get it" until you're a mom. Now you know! I try not to judge other moms either because you never know why someone has made the choices they have made and what led them to make them. What works for me may not work for others and vice versa. We are all just doing the best we can!

Hey, you never really "get it" until you're a mom. Now you know! I try not to judge other moms either because you never know why someone has made the choices they have made and what led them to make them. What works for me may not work for others and vice versa. We are all just doing the best we can!

You are NOT alone, I think most of us had those "I'll never do that" judgements before we had kids and we had to eat our words. You just never know until you become a parent. You can't predict what will work best for you and your child. We've all been there.

I can totally relate. I have gone against most of my "I''ll nevers" & "When I have kids...". You just never know until you are in those shoes. I love to plan everything but kids are so unpredictable! I definitely have learned how to go with the flow.

File that under things I could never say even before having DD! 
I remember flying before DD and always  if I was stuck near babies or little kids. Now I am the one flying with the little munchkin, and I wonder if those nearby are thinking the same thing!

Same here.
I swore she'd sleep in the crib from day one.
Then day one came and it was so much easier to have her in our room.
I swore no binky- well she's still addicted to it at 2 years old.
I would give dirty looks to people with screaming kids in restaruants- now that is us with a 2 year old.
It goes on and on.
Its one of those things you have to be to undertand!

My cousin pointed out a child on one of those leash things for kids. I just said some children need it and safety comes first.
I thought I would never CIO but no matter what method there was always fussing and tears.
Unless a child is neglected I won't judge any parent!

I have thought similar things so many times!
Even worse, as a psychologist in a special ed preschool, I regularly work with parents on parenting/behavior management techniques. I thought that just because I went to school for this stuff, I knew about kids. Well, let me tell you, all the child development education in the world does not prepare you for being a parent, much less efficiently applying that knowledge.

Ha, this is me too. I'm a psychologist in private practice and work with parents on parenting and behavior techniques yet 4 weeks ago my 3 yo threw the mother of all tantrums and I had no idea what to do. 45 minutes of crying/whining/apologizing/ repeat.... Thank goodness he's an easy going kid who has rarely thrown tantrums bc I don't know what i would do! I'd lose my mind.
Once you are a parent you just never know what can and will happen. You have to just go with it.

This is so true!!! Also I feel like a lot of my childless friends and family have been "judging" my parenting. 2 of them are due with their firsts this summer and I can't wait til they find out what it's really like!

Although I'm still guilty because the other day I was secretly judging the mom in Target whose crusty-eyed kid was yelling "I HAVE PINK EYE"

Definitely not alone. I just learned DS is a "runner" while we were on vacation a few weeks ago. Those monkey "backpacks" look pretty awesome now.

Um, I used to think I would never breastfeed in public. Now, I seriously could care less. I cover up, but if someone saw my boob, I would not care at all. When that baby is screaming for food, I will pull my boob out!
