I find more often that FTWM think I have it so much easier because I am PT. in reality I am home all day and then go to work at night, I don't think it's easier at all. It's just what is right for our family right now.
But I can understand how you feel, I agree that certain people make me feel the same way.

I think people judge from all angles, you can't catch a break. I'm a FTWM however I think part time would be ideal for me just to have the extra time with DD. I don't think it's easier by any means.

I haven't experienced this. My friends are a very mixed group. Some are FTWM, some are SAHM and some have a PT thing going on.
I think they probably have a hard time understanding the trials of my situation because they don't do it themselves however, I think that is the basis of the big FTWM vs SAHM "battle". Unless you walk a mile in some one else shoes, it seems like what they do could never be as hard/rewarding/etc as what you do.

Question for the PTWM
Fortunately I haven't felt like I am not accepted by either "Category' of mom, but I can see how that would happen. I absolutely feel like I have the best of both worlds working PT and hope to be able to do this for a while.

Yes. I agree both sides think PTWM is the best but sometimes it isn't. Like when I walk in from work and don't get a lunch break because I have to feed DS and get him to nap and then do as much cleaning as I can while he sleeps. I can't go out unless DS sleep in his stroller and then after nap, dd comes come.
Friends on either side think I have the best of both worlds. I feel like I get cheated on both sides. Never make strong work relationships because I am not there at lunch time/don't have a long lunch. And never go to play dates because I come home for nap time.

I work 4 days but I still consider myself PT and so does my employer! I am pretty sure I would be accepted by FTWM since I am 4 days at a demanding job but I dont really know many FTWM. There are many at my job as most women continue to work after kids, but at my level no one is really "friends" unless you started out with them and all of my good work friends have moved elsewhere by now.

I feel the opposite, like I have something to talk about with both sides. I can play the "woah it's tough staying home with the kids" card and the "my boss is driving me crazy!" card
