Labor for DC2

How did it compare to DC1? Time (both all of labor and pushing)? Vaginal or c-sec? Easier or more difficult overall?

Re: Labor for DC2

Labor was longer because I was induced the 2nd time. Pushing was much quicker

DS #1 - about an hour and half pushing

DS #2 - about 5 minutes

DC 1- 22 hours with 30 minutes of pushing. He was 4 days early.

DC 20 3 hours with 20 minutes of pushing. She had to be induced and the dr. said it was a goo thing bc she progressed incredibly quick. I prob would have had her in a car!

Labor for DC2

DD#1: Had mild contractions on Monday night(nothing painful). Then it became full blown labor Tuesday night around 9 pm. Arrived at the hospital around 10:30pm and my first born was born at 4:30am.

DS: went into labor at 35 weeks and had an emergency c-section later that afternoon. The contractions were never intense but since I was being seen by high risk doctors and had a no stress test that morning that showed contractions they sent me to the hospital. Emergency csection was done due to DS HR.

Re: Labor for DC2

For DC1 I was induced because my water broke and I was only 36 wks 2 days. From water breaking to baby was 10 hours. Actually pushing was 28 minutes.

For DC2 I was 5 days late with bulging waters so again I was induced. From induction to baby was 5 hours. Pushing? One push - the baby practically fell out!

Labor for DC2

DD1 - I was induced at 39w 3d and it was a long process - 48 hours start to finish and about an hour of pushing.

DD2 - had mild contractions from midnight until around 5pm at 40w 4d, got more painful around 6pm and got the epi at 7pm, DD was born at 8:11pm and I pushed for about 15 minutes. Pushing was way more painful with DD2 because she was sunny side up.

Re: Labor for DC2

Ds1 32 hours of labor about 45 min of pushing( 5days late)
Ds2 2.5 hours of labor and 4 contractions to deliver(11days early)
Ds3 7 hours of labor and 15 mins of pushing(9 days early)

Ds1 was long but not painful till the very end
Ds2 was by far the easiest but the most painful
Ds3 was the first time I had epi and although it wore off I think it made pushing more difficult

I was 6.5 cm when I arrived at the hospital all 3 times

Re: Labor for DC2

All inductions
DD #1- 4.5 hours from start of Pitocin to delivery. Actual pushing probably about 15 minutes, including where I was told NOT to push because the cord was around her neck and caught.

DD #2- 12 hours cervadil induction with no progress. from start of Pitocin to delivery 16 hours. From them breaking my water, less than an hour later she was born. pushing under 10 minutes.

DD #3- from start of Pitocin to delivery 12 hours, actual pushing 10 minutes.

DS #1- 12 hours cervadil induction with no progress. Started Pitocin at 5:30 am, my water broke right before 7 am(shift change at the hospital) ready to push by 8:30, wasn't allowed to push for 20 minutes, them prepping and finding a doctor. Pushed for 10 minutes as they called everyone in there and it took 2 doctors along with me pushing another 5 mintues to get him out as his shoulder was stuck.

Re: Labor for DC2

DS # 1- induced at 1:00 AM 9 days past my due date. Started pushing at 2:00 PM and DS was born at 3:26 PM. No epi, very painful and difficult. I swore to DH that DS would be an only child because I just couldn't do that again.

DS # 2- Was due on March 30th, went into labor at 5 AM on March 24th. Again no epi, started pushing at 10:45 PM, DS was born at 12:01 AM. Much easier labor, not nearly as painful.

vag both times... induction both times..

27 hours for first one... 7 hours for second one...

within that..

pushing 2 1/2 hours for first one - 10 minutes for second one(and no epidural because 3 to 10 cm in under an hour)

Re: Labor for DC2

Both were easy for me, but my first took much, MUCH longer.

With my first I went into labor 15 days early. My water broke, but I wasn't ready I guess because I wasn't dilated or contracting & it took 19 hours for my ds to come (I had an epi). I only spent 20 min. pushing.

With my second I went into labor on my due date & I delivered him 90 min. after my first major contraction. I had been 4cm & contracting off & on for a few weeks, but once labor started, it started for me lol It was a bit of a blur (I didn't have an epi), but I think that I only pushed for 5 min.

DC 1 - 14 hours, pushed for 2.

DC 2- 4 hours. Pushed for 10 minutes.

Both started with my water breaking a few days before due date.

Both were vaginal, drug free. First was 8 lbs, second was 7-6.

Second labor was sooo intense, but so much easier overall than the first.
