I think it really depends on the person. I never wanted to stay home. I was looking forward to going back to work. I am not sayign I don't have days that I miss DS I absolutely do but I also love beign at work.
So I think it really depends on you.....do you really not want to work....then you might have a hard time. If you are ok with working then it is probably more of just an adjustment period.
It also helps my daycare post pics all the time and the days he is with my ILs they send pics.
This! I couldn't wait to go back to work. I missed the adult interaction, the me time, the getting dressed up, the intellectual challenges -so much. I was actually starting to get depressed towards the end of my maternity leave. I'd be miserable if I had to stay home. So it's really more of an indiviual thing I think.
This is me... DS only started daycare this week and I did cry every day for two weeks leading up to my first day. I dropped him off that first morning and I must have kissed him a hundred times before leaving the building and I was so upset when I pulled into the parking lot of my office.... but by the time I got to my desk and said hello to everyone I felt better. I enjoy my job and I know that by staying where I am will allow us to take family vacations, sign him up for baby activity classes, throw him fun birthday parties etc. Thinking about those things while I'm dropping him off really helps. Granted it has only been three days and don't get me wrong, it is hard to leave him, but I find focusing on the positive helps. It is also nice that his daycare is 5 minutes door to door from my office and I can pop in at lunch if I like.
I would guess that if someone enjoys their job it could get a little easier as time goes on, especially once the kids start making friends and expressing an interest in the activities that they do at daycare. In a perfect world I could set him up in my office to be with him all day and still have that adult interaction and do my job... but for now since I enjoy what I do and have a great supportive boss who is a working mom herself and understands what it is like I am happy to be back at work. I feel like I am better for it. I really hope that it gets easier for everyone who is having hard time. It is hard and I am sure there are days that will be better and worse than others but just remember why you're doing what you're doing and how your LO will benefit from it.

Question for working moms
I cried every day until she was 10 mths old and I finally went part time. For me personally it was exceptionally hard because I had always envisioned myself being a stay at home mom but unfortunately we just can't afford that.
