PVC in kids shoes
My SIL brought back these cute jelly/rubber sandals for the girls from Brazil. They've worn them a few times and got so many compliments so DH went online to see if we could order more. Well he found out they have PVC in them. He is ADAMANT that they stop wearing them. Would you let your DC wear them? I do recall it being a huge deal when Nike agreed to stop using PVC in the rubber of their sneakers. WWYD?
(I think I know the "right thing" to do, but these shoes are just SOOOO cute and comfy and DD1 just loves them. )

PVC in kids shoes
I thought it was BPA that needed to be avoided in things that were being ised for food or beverage.. PVC is used in houses with piping and other things all the time. Plus I personally can't see how it being in their shoes would harm them. I've never heard anything about Nike.

Haha..YES duh me...you are right..the BPA is the one to avoid in cups etc. lol. Confused my acronyms! But the shoes have PVC in them, another toxin. I'm thinking as long as they don't EAT their shoes they're fine. DH disagrees.

according to this article, nike stopped using PVC because of the effect on the environment. The effect on the environment, then effected humans. considering that the shoes are already made, yes I would let my kids wear them, but I would not buy more because I'm in the "green" side. lol

I know some people are pickier but I agree with you. She is not putting them in her mouth! And who knows what is in other shoes. Plus, many houses have PVC pipes. It is impossible to avoid all toxins.
