Taking reflux meds and dairy allergy

So. I changed my diet to dairy-free and my 6-week old baby is not screaming and arching as much. However, I noticed that the less he arches, the more he spits up. Honestly, it's more like vomit. So, my doctor told me to give him axid, so his esophagus does not burn. So, now the two problems I am having are, he throws up after I give him the medicine. And, he has a bad rash on his face which is getting worse in the heat. On a positive note, he is starting to imitate my sounds, so we have conversations. It's very cute! If anyone has advice on my new problems, I would love to hear.

Axid didn't cut it for DD we had to switch to Prilosec but it was a wonder drug!! Ask about that.

Can you tell me what it did? Did your baby stop spitting up as badly?

Dd is ff and on Zantac. Not sure if it really works or not, but she would gag on the minty taste of it. I took it back to cvs and had them flavor it. She doesn't love it but I think it's a little better. I smelled it and it doesn't smell as minty. I flavored it Apple

We also gave Malox 3 x per day. (.02 ml, I think). Axid, malox, gas drops in every bottle and alimentum combo helped. She kinda outgrew the spitting up around 3 mo when she couldn hold herself upright a little. She used to spit up whole bottles and would spit up out of her nose and scream from it. She is still on alimentum but has been off everythign else from about 4.5 mo.
