Are there any of you out there?
If so how frequently do you pump?

I don't, but I would pump every time you would nurse, so every 2-3 hours.

I pumped exclusively with DD. In the beginning it was every 3 hours. I eventually was able to move to 4 hours and by about 3-4 months I could go overnight.

I did for 19 months. When my twins were born I was pumping 8 times a day and continued that schedule for months.

I started with 8 times a day when she was born. At one month I went to 7 pumps, two months 6 pumps a day, 3 months 5 pumps a day, etc. I have to go back to work at 6 months so I am going to go to 2 pumps a day so I don't have to pump at work. I dropped the overnight pump as soon as she slept through the night. My supply actually started increasing when I dropped pumps. I was only getting 2-4 oz each time when I pumped 8 times a day. When I went to 4 pumps per day I was getting between 45 and 50 oz per day. Now at 3 it has decreased a little, but still enough. I am guessing when I go down to 2 pumps I will have to start using frozen milk.

for the first 3 months I pumped every time he ate. when he started sleeping 6 hours at night at 5 weeks old, I wouldnt wake up to pump. in the beginning I was pumping 6-8x/day. at 3 months I was able to drop down to 4x/day. now he is 4.5 months and im now doing 3 40-60 min pumps per day. when I was doing 6 pumps per day, I would get 70-100 oz. now I get about 40 and im ok with that. this is my 2nd baby though. I barely had a supply with my dd.

this is pretty much exactly what I did with my twins and by 4.5 months I was going 6 or so hours at night without pumping then going back to the regular 3-4 hours. I pumped for about 30-45 minutes depending on the day and supply.

for the first 3 months, I pumped every feeding. Once I started work, I dropped the overnight pumping. Now at 4 months, I pump 4x a day. It dropped my supply but thankfully I started a stash from the very beginning. I have a huge supply to last me at least 3-4 months without pumping.

How did you get your supply up in the beginning. My daughter is 5 days old and I am getting between 10-15 ml from each side.
I starting pumping for 10 minutes every hour to help the supply but I am hooked up constantly then! I get between 5-10 ml every hour now.
Its just not enough for her :(

I exclusively pumped for 14 months. I started off by pumping every 2 hours and then by 3 months, I pushed to every 4 hours. By 9 months, I was pumping every 5 hours.

It's still early. Your milk will start coming in. I would breast feed, than pump right after to build up a supply. My milk didn't start coming in until the 2-3rd week.

I do that too. I just started this hour thing yesterday. The lacation lady said to do 10 -15 minutes every hour so it seems as if she wants to eat that frequently.

I wish I could nurse. She wont latch on. She did the entire time in the hospital. Her birth weight went down 12 oz and the dr. said to supplement. Once she got that bottle she wont latch :( I am ok with it as long as she gets as much as my milk as possible. I had low supply with my son so I am just trying early on to do what I can. I refuse to do all the things I did with my son because it made me depressed.

It was taking me an hour each feed, trying to make him latch over and over. Seriously 5 minutes with an LC and we were back on track. I haven't had a problem since, DS is 4 mo old, EBF, no supplement and chubby.
I give the ladies who pump TONS of credit, I don't think I could do it! If you haven't totally thrown in the towel on nursing I would seriously meet with an LC. I *think* some might be covered by insurance but even so, the time you save pumping might be worth the money.

I know it is expensive, but I would really consider getting a pump that allows you to pump both sides at once. I think that really increased my supply - plus if you think of all the time saved, it was totally worth it for me. Also, get a hands free bra. That was a lifesaver!!

Right, I was saying that an LC might be able to help you to get her to latch again. If you really want to nurse I'd give it a try. If you're happy pumping then don't worry about it.

I know it is expensive, but I would really consider getting a pump that allows you to pump both sides at once. I think that really increased my supply - plus if you think of all the time saved, it was totally worth it for me. Also, get a hands free bra. That was a lifesaver!!
I have the double one. I couldn't figure out that bra with DS. I just put a pillow in front and it holds them up. I meant how long do you actually pump.

Right, I was saying that an LC might be able to help you to get her to latch again. If you really want to nurse I'd give it a try. If you're happy pumping then don't worry about it.
With DS I had a horrible experience and I was depressed by the whole process. I really didn't care for the LC's I have met. If the pumping is working I am find with it. I just want to get my supply up without doing any crazy drops or teas.
