Potty training advice

i introduced the potty a couple months ago when dc was around 23 months. i havent been very pushy with toilet training pretty much just here and there. lately though it seems he has 0 interest in using it. when i first introduced the potty he would tell me poopoo just so he could sit on the potty. now he doesnt want to use the potty at all. i see that when he has to go number 2 he runs and hides then proceeds to say "poopoo." If i say what are you doing he says poopoo. i have just been telling him "when you have to go poopoo tell mommy and we can use the potty." it hasnt worked yet maybe hes not ready? any advice? hes 25 months almost 26.

Have you looked into the 3 day potty training method, it's an e book. She had some suggestions for dealing with poop. She feels that 22 months is the ideal age to start training. I think what it come down to is really just being diligent and super observant. She uses all positive reinforcement to inspire them to use the potty.

I am potty training one of my twins right now. They are 24 months. One is doing great, the other has not used the potty once. The 3 day method calls for more than one person to train twins so I am not using that method right now but I will have to revisit it when I train the other twin.

thank you!! i havent looked into that method, i will now! to be fair i havent really been too on top of the potty. it seems hes already lost interest after only a short time. thank you for the book reco, im going to get it.

def. recommend the 3 day potty training method it worked great on DD except i still cant get her to wake up dry overnight!

blu, did you try the no drinking 2-3 hours before bed, wake up to pee, wake up an hour earlier thing?

I have been dreading the overnight thing. One baby sleeps in my bed and she squirms all over the place, the other prefers her couch in her room rather than her youth bed. So I can't in all practicality strip our king sized bed nor can I put waterproof covers on the couches so I have been using pull ups at night.

Did you follow the night program like she said or did you modify it?
