That isn't bullying... It is assault!!! I would file a police report and demand that child be removed from school.. If it has happened before, it will happen again and again.. Tell the parents to go to the police station with everything they have and file the report. Get as much documented as they can and if need be take it to the school board..

ETA she mentioned filing a police report and has a note from the Dr.
My intiial response was to file a police report, i dont care how old the kids are, they did physical damage i would of been at the police station on top of calling everyone i could above that principal...lunch detention is a crazy punishment, even more so that it happened during recess where is the teachers that are suppose to watch for this kind of stuff

Severe bullying/beating up. What can be done?
I would file a report with the police. Also, a boy getting hit in the groin to cause a black and blue could potentially cause problems down the road. I would have everything documented by the physician who saw him. I know they are kids but that was assault.

I agree with the others who said a police report should be filed. I would also set up a meeting with the principal asap and discuss why they received such a minor punishment and what can and will be done in the future to insure that this doesn't happen again. Obviously this is a repeated behavior and the consequences so far have not been enough.
I would be FURIOUS if this ever happened to my child.

So I leared some new info from someone who has worked in NYS schoold forever. NYS has a zero tollerance policy for bullying and the minimum punishment is 6 mo suspension. Not just lunch detention  .
I havent talked to my sister yet to see if she filed a report.

 he will certaintly be granted a safety transfer and honestly may be a fresh start is just what he needs. Bullying happens but the way it was handled would infuriate me and make me uneasy about my child staying there
