5 mo old nursing & sleeping strike - teething?
The last week, my DD won't sleep unless she's being held and has really struggled to nurse, pulls off the boob every few seconds. She doesn't seem to be in pain (most of the time) but I can tell she's not feeding well because my boobs are always full and engorged between nursing sessions, which hasn't happened since she was just born. The only explanation I have is that she's teething, but was wondering if it could be anything else?

If everything else seems ok, I would also guess teething. You can maybe try some Infant Tylenol and see if that helps. GL!

How often does she currently nurse? Maybe try spacing out her feedings and naps a bit more. What you describe sounds a bit like how DD acts when she's ready to stretch out her routine more.

She nurses every 3-4 hrs. She also has bottles of BM at daycare and we new main caretaker recently changed her routine, which we are currently arguing about. We always provided 4 bottles just in case and DD has only ever taken 3. Now this new chick gives her all 4, spaced 2 hours apart. I'm afraid that may be causing some of te nursing issues too, since she's getting more and more used to the bottle.

My almost 5 month old is doing the exact same thing, though she is bottle fed. Down from about 18oz/day to about 10! And she keeps pushing the bottle away! Otherwise, normal temperament, seems happy. Sleeping only 9 hrs at night instead of usual 11. My pediatrician had us give her a low dose of Tylenol about a half hour before feedings (4 hrs apart). It definitely has helped - she was almost back to normal yesterday. Today I only gave her 1 dose of the Tylenol at night when she seemed cranky and she snapped back within 10 minutes.

I think it's just a phase, DD went through that too.
Stop giving the 4 bottles and make them readjust the schedule to what YOU want her on. If she's taking 5 oz in the 4, put 6.5oz in the 3 bottles.
As long as there's wet and poopy diapers, she's prob OK.
