S/O How did you know you were done?
I always wanted 2 kids. I got married pretty young at 25 and at 26 had DS. Now at 29 I had DD. I am very happy to have had a boy and a girl and I tell everyone that we are done. Everyone keeps telling me that I am way to young to make that decision. I feel like children are a lot of work and I don't think I can handle anymore. Also I want to enjoy them now and not always be worrying about diapers, bottles etc. DH is not completly on board he thinks we should have one more when these 2 are older. I told him unless he can get pregnant it's not happening. How did you know you were done?

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
In the back of my head I knew I always wanted 3 kids, DH wanted 1 but agreed to 2. Right after I had DS I knew I wanted another child. We wanted them to be 2-2.5 years apart. Well that changed and they are 15 months apart. While I was pg with #2 I knew in my heart I was not content with 2 even though she wasn't born yet. I was starting to accept not having a 3rd and then Dh said lets try and we did. As soon as I peed on that stick and saw a + I knew I was done at 3 . Now that she has been in our family for 2 years I feel so complete and love all the playfulness she brings. Sometimes I think about having a 4th and my family and friends joke with me and all say I am not done, but I think that it would be put me over the edge. It was hard getting back into baby mode for me and I will soon have a potty trained toddler so I just can't see doing it again.
I think you just know. I never understood that until I went through it .

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
-I always wanted two kids, as does DH.
-Our 3 and 5 year old boys are amazing, but they are a lot of work.
-I turned 38 shortly after my second was born. While I love babies, sleepless nights are tougher the older I get.
-Financially, we can afford much more for 2- activities, camps, zoo memberships, Disney trips, would be curtailed if we had more kids.
-I feel that we would be much less patient with our kids if we had more.
- my friends who have teenagers scare me with their stories. I am already scared of having two of them. The baby phase? You blink and its over. The teenage phase? Seemingly endless.

S/O How did you know you were done?
My DH and I just had the conversation over the weekend. I am 40 so I don't have an extended time period. We decided since it took 2 years and fertility treatments along the way we would try for #2 but only on our own. No extra treatments. I would love two but I have an amazing little boy and if that's all I have I will be perfectly happy.

I just knew all my life if I had a child, I'd only want one. I knew it forever. I just knew. It was never a question or up for debate.

S/O How did you know you were done?
Both DH and I agree that we are done with 2. I'm in my late 30s, work FT, commute over an hour each way to work 4x a week and feel like I'm spread too thin between work and home so I am definitely done.
Also - DS 1 was a horrible sleeper until about a year ago and I feel like I am finally feeling like myself again after having kids!!!

S/O How did you know you were done?
I had kids very early, and had three kids by 26. I never felt done before my youngest came along... with her came an overwhelming feeling of DONEness. I can't explain it any other way. It was a complete sureness of not wanting any more children, of our family being complete. DH had a vasectomy when my youngest was 6 months old. People told us we were crazy for closing up shop so early, but it was 4 years ago and I have never had an instant of regret. Even holding a newborn baby, I have no desire to go through that again.
When you are done, you KNOW. If you are certain, don't let anyone tell you that you should feel otherwise.

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
I always wanted 2. But DH and I just had our first and he is in his mid 40s and I'm in my late 30s. It took us a year and 4 months to get pregnant and we had a slight scare at 20 weeks. If I was quite a bit younger I'd really want 2. But if I had to tell you what my gut is telling me at this moment iit's that I feel our family is complete. I don't feel like we are missing something or that I have a feeling like we are meant to have another.

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
Like you, I got married at 26 & had my boys at 29,30. I always said 2 or 3. When I had #2, I knew I was complete & content. My boys are only 10.5 months apart, so we got out of bottles & now my youngest is on his way out of diapers. I honestly don't want to go through that again plus financially, we feel 2 is the perfect # for us.

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
I always knew I wanted 2. After I had my first daughter I actually wasn't sure if I wanted another one. I loved her so much, I didn't know if it was possible to feel that way with another. But I didn't feel like our family was complete. We had another girl. They are best friends and I could not imagine not having her. Having said that, I feel 100% our family is complete. I am going to be 39 and the thought of having another one honestly exhausts me. In your heart, I think you know fir sure when you are done.

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
After my twins we were on the fence but leaning towards being done. I was just sad that I only got to go through all the stages once. I also had a complicated birth and few days after so I felt cheated. I had IF treatments for my twins and didn't think it could happen on our own. One night of fun later we were pregnant with #3. I now feel complete...financially, time wise and space in our house we couldn't have anymore anyway!

I'm not done.
I know I'm not done... Even though I'd have to sacrifice a lot to have a third... I feel like we have a missing member of the family all of the time...
We will have a third and then be done (because I will be too old to have another)...
But every day, I feel like we are missing someone!

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
I have a 13 year old stepson, my dd is 2 and I'm pregnant right now. Even though I love being pregnant and don't think I will ever get that "done"feeling everyone talks about, we are 100% done! We financially can't afford anymore children and we don't have space for anymore.

We were on the fence about #3. We had a girl and a boy. But I just didn't feel done. Now, I'm DONE! I just know it. Went and got an IUD post #3. Started getting rid of baby stuff, done.

I am 85% sure I am done. I have been blessed with a beautiful boy and if that is all I have then I am fine with that.

S/O How did you know you were done?
When I looked into that beautiful face the seed was planted.. As she grew into an amazing child that plant took hold Then when I realized how much I could give her and how much she will have those roots were forever rooted in my soul.
I wanted 2 He wanted 3 We needed only 1

Re: S/O How did you know you were done?
We have three.
And for me, the feeling of being done is the same as the feeling I had when I knew I wanted kids to begin with; there was just never any doubt.
I knew I wanted to be a mom and then, after my thrid was born, I knew our family was complete.
Very different from the feelings I had when we were deciding on whether or not to go for a 3rd. At that time is was a let's see what happend, what ever will be will be approach.
