Need a bed for DD
I need to get a bed for DD#2. She is developmentally delayed, and still needs to be fully enclosed. I'm thinking of getting her a bunkbed with extra siderails so that it is sort of still crib-like, but covered.
DD#1 came shopping with us, and of course fell in love with one of those bunkbeds with the tent on top. She will be extremely jealous if DD#2 gets a bunk. Even though she has gorgeous furniture in her room, I'm considering getting her a bunkbed too, so that she has a spot for somebody else to sleep if she has a sleepover, or for any other kind of eventuality.
What do you think? Would you get a bunkbed for DD#1 to accommodate potential overnight guests? It is probably unreasonable to consider DD#1 sleeping in with DD#2 on the top bunk because DD#2 is a very bad sleeper and wakes up often (one of her "issues"). Ordinarily I would not give in to her jealousy, I would just tell her that they each have beautiful furniture, that is what they each need. I'm just thinking about the space planning aspect. (My pull out couch is trashed and really can't be used by any overnight guests anymore.)

If you can afford it and think it would be practical- I would get DD1 a new bed as well.
Can you sell her old furniture (or at least her bed) to help pay for the new set?
One other thought- are the rails on a top bunk going to be enough to keep DD2 in her bed and not falling out?

I would get it...especailly if you can and will use it for future over night guests

Thanks ladies.
DD#2 will sleep in the lower bunk. The upper will just be to "enclose" her in the lower one. I will get extra side rails and attach them to the lower bed so that it is still sort of "crib-like".
