Nope, I don't think that you're wrong at all. You deserve some time to relax and he needs to share the parenting and household responsibilities with you. Chat Icon

You definitely aren't wrong.

I have felt the same way on weeks when DH isn't around a lot (I work FT though so I have a little bit of time to myself on my commute).

Re: NPR: Am I Wrong?

whose friend is it i assume his. What is he doing saturday during the day.

I would be pissed and annyoed too if i was ever in that position.

i would probably ask him not to be out all day on Saturday if he doesnt have too and then let him go at night.

Or i would let him know he will be having DD all day Sunday while you go out and do what you want and need to do.

No.

We don't do solo things on the weekend, as it is our time together.

Take your kid, and all of you go. Let your DH sit next to your kid.

Don't worry about DH, from his aspect, he worked all day & is tired & wants to have some "himself" time too. Kids are tough. We attack them together!I'm not a fan of having "girl time" and "boy time"... our time is so limited, we maximize it as "family time".

NPR: Am I Wrong?

Sunday is mothers day so its not like I can have all of sunday to myself to do what I want.

And he has to work Sat so he cant reschedule that. It is his friend but not a very good one in the sense that this guy doesnt run to go out for my dh's birthday EVER. So I dont know why my DH thinks he has to run for him.

To the above poster, the dinner is at 8 o clock at night and thats my dd bedtime so its a no go. And its the kind of place where youll be there until 11 at night cause its packed. My dd wouldnt make it and i wouldnt want to do that to her.
I dont mind alone time Im all for it cause I need it too, but on a week where its been hectic and he hasnt been around then I think he needs to be more understanding. I give him his alone time just about anytime he wants only once in a while do I have to say no that doesnt work for me but when I do its an issue.

i forgot mothers day is sunday Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

with what you wrote i would tell him that i dont see why he has to go I rather him not but he is grown man and he can do what he wants.

If he goes i would be sure to make sure you plan a day where you have time all for you self and mothers day doesnt countChat Icon

I don't think you're wrong at all. DH and I had a similar discussion last week. I don't think they get how hard we work and how nice it is to have them home to help!! I even love when DH is home and the baby is asleep just to hang out with him. We had a long talk and I explained to him that when he's not home I have to do everything. I think he gets it a little more now. Maybe try talking to him and explaining it to him. Good luck :)

Re: NPR: Am I Wrong?

I don't know - I'm torn. You should be upset - I HATE the whole kids/house is YOUR job.

Is DH normally a helpful guy? Is it just because he was busy this week?

If dinner is at 8 and your DD is already sleeping - I'd have no problem with him going. There's your alone time.
