Poop Training

My son is newly potty trained with pee pee, but still doesnt poop on the potty. He is 3 and a half. I know pooping on the potty takes longer but should i keep him in underwear and have him poop in it hoping i can clean it or keep him in pull ups until he is fully trained?

mine just turned 3, and is terrified to poop in potty or poop without diaper/pullup. he will hold it in. Its been about 6m like this, so dont know what to do next. I keep him in pullup, he actually will keep it dry and pee on the potty, but hell poop in pullup. once summer comes, Im going to try to have him pantless, and fill him up with fiber, hope he gets over it. Id love advice too.

Just went through this with my 3.5 year old. He's been pee trained since Nov but just got poop trained within the past 2 weeks. He hadn't been in a pull up since November. I put him in underwear & would try to catch him prior to pooping & put him on potty or remind him. We had accident after accident in his underwear. Every time I would say to.him "you are a big boy & wear big boy pants, you need to go on potty". I tried a sticker chart, rewards for making it to potty but nothing worked. All of a sudden something clicked & now hr will tell me he has to go. I honestly don't know what the turning point was.

I'm having the same problem as you. I have been keeping DS in underwear and trying to catch him before he goes. Thankfully he only poops at home so it makes things a little easier.

I wish he will poop anywhere, and doesnt have a set time even that he goes. So in the last 3 weeks ive thrown out a couple pairs of underwear already that were unsavable.

so today, out of nowhere, ds went to bathroom, pulled down his pull up and pooped on the potty ...

hes 3y and 3m this sunday ... wow so it only took 6m for poop to happen after pee ...
