What do you find is the easiest way to cut your infants nails? When they are sleeping?

she used to have to be distracted but now i just say they are getting long and i dont want her to hurt herself or me and she usually lets me cut them.

We use the Zoli buzz b electric nail file which is one of my fav products. It gets the job done, without fear of cutting LO.
While it's easier to do this when she's asleep, the vibrating sound actually soothes her, so I can do it while she's sitting in her rocker.

Cutting nails
I sit DD on my lap and put Elmo on my laptop to keep her still. Been doing that for months and now she asks for elmo every time she sees me go in the medicine cabinet where the clipper is!

I have always done it awake.
He got use to it and never gave me a hard time. Ds is now 3

I used to do it when he was sleepign and I used a cuticle cutter. And then I woudl file. Now DS sits still when I do it.

put peanut butter on their chest. it will distract them so while they are trying to lick it, you can cut their nails.
no wait, thats for a dog....

i never cut their nails while they were sleeping.. both kids are used to it, even AJ allows me to cut his nails and toes.

I cut them with a clipper while my older DD dances and sings to distract her. I don't go anywhere near her while she's sleeping! Waaaay too risky!

hes 3 and asks for it now... but before 6m when he was sleeping. we never let him watch any cartoons, except when cutting nails.

ITA with this! My DS was a bad napper and hated having his nails cut (he got better now, but he's almost 3). He had long nails for a while... They were thin, so never really got long!

I did it while nursing. By the time DS weaned at 2 he was able to sit still while I cut his nails.

DS is 13 months and I still do it while he is sleeping. I have tried countless times while he is awake and he will not sit still. He even moves his feet around when I try to do it in his sleep so those are always difficult to cut!
