Arm..and its not bad at all. I would choose that over finger prick for this, according to our peds nurse the finger prick can be more trouble because they have to squeeze the finger over and over to get enough blood (it's not just a few drops). The arm is simple...teeny needle goes in, they get what they need in second and its done. both my boys were excellent during the arm draw!!

wanted to add..parents freak out if their kid is crying but I can tell you from experience that most times kids cry because they are anticipating something, not because they are in actual pain...my 3 year old gets freaked every single time he goes to the doctor just because he hates shots. He cries as the nurse is setting up, lol..then afterwards he says "that wasn't too bad" lol

One year old blood draw.. Finger or arm?

arm, DS cried a bunch but it as ok. He was fine almost immediately after. I'm sure he doesn't remember it! (ETA, it was a bit traumatizing to me, just seeing him cry like that)

I agree, DS is terrified of the SCALE when we go to the doctor. I have to talk him off a ledge everytime we go "it's just a scale!" When he had the blood draw, he started crying before they even did anything because he knew something was coming. But the second it was over he was fine.

At DS 1 year it was a finger prick. It was actually kind of awful. I thought it'd be so much better then the arm, but they kept squeezing and he was crying soooooo hard.
When he was about 2 1/2 we had loos drawn to test allergies and though he cried and it was horrible that he had to be held down, it went much quicker then the finger.

When we had it done in the dr's office it was a finger prick.

When we went to quest, it was a lab draw from the arm.

Arm draw.
I won't share my story because I still have nightmares. Needless to say, we changed pediatricians shortly after.
