More breastfeeding questions

Sorry for all the questions. After a brief hiatus with supplementing I am back to breastfeeding.

Ds has been a good eater. He was 7lbs 14 oz at birth an last week was 11.5 lbs.

The past few days his sessions have been much shorter like maybe 15 minutes and he is also spitting up more. Is he just getting more efficient?

Also last night I nursed him around 630 and then tried again at 830 and he refused and was screaming. I swaddled him and he fell asleep till almost 5 am . Is this ok?

Just want to make sure he's getting enough

Sounds like typical changes and phases. My guess is maybe is just getting passed a growth spurt. I always felt that after DD seemed to have a growth spurt she'd sleep a lot for a day or two. In the early days, DD hardly ever spit up, then suddenly it started happening a few times a day. She also went from very long sessions to 30 minutes to 15 minutes eventually. At a year, some are just a few minutes long. As long as he fed okay today I wouldn't worry about missing that session last night.

It sounds like he's getting more efficient and that's why his sessions are shorter.

Wow, you've got a great sleeper on your hands! My DS was BF and slept long stretches like that at night, too. As long as he's gaining appropriately, I'd say you're doing an awesome job and not to worry!

My DD shortened her feedings around 4 months and kept gaining the same amount per month. She either got more efficient or less interested in comfort sucking.
She used to sometmes sleep 10 to 12 hours. Now at 6 months I am lucky to get 4 hours straight.
DD hardly ever spits up. When she does, it's after she has a bit more than usual.

Thanks everyone. I guess as long as he is eating well during the day. I am thinking since his sessions are shorter he may be drinking faster and that may be why he is spitting up more?
He slept from 845 till 545 so I like that!!!
