Hook on high chairs vs cloth high chair covers...
W/ 2 kids. Looking for opinions/advice. Trying to see which is better. I know the high chair covers double as shopping cart covers- though if its just me i can only push 1 cart at a time... Hook on high chairs- I can see the benefit of instead of 2 bulky high chairs... But wonder how sturdy they are as well as if the tight grip on the table remains over time. Hopefully this makes sense. TIA!

i have both.
when i go to restaurants, i generally prefer the hook on one - it fits pretty well (and easily) onto tables and is sturdy. It says it's good until 40lb. My only thing is that it's a bit annoying for me to carry.

I would probably go with 2 high chair/ cart covers. There are times I wish I had a back up bc it's dirty from using it at a restaurant or when it was flu season and it had been in a shopping cart a few times or she had spit up while in the cart, etc. I have no experience with the hook on chairs though.
I do have a FP booster that was $20 that I keep in my car for if we're at someone's house and I need a high chair. It takes up very little room in the car and I sometimes just end up sitting it on the floor if we're at a party and there's limited chairs or table space.

I have a shopping cart/high chair cover (infantino plenty), but I also have the munchkin travel booster seat for when were out. I'm sure it is more compact than a hook on high chair!

When DD was 4-7 months or so, we used a portable feeding seat that straps onto the chair when we went to restaurants. When she got a little bigger, we started using the high chair/shopping cart cover because DD likes the restaurant highchairs better. We still use the portable seat when we go to someone's house.

We have a summer infant hook on high chair & love it! It comes with a tray so we can put food on it & don't have to worry about a germy table. Plus he is higher up being attatched to the table rather then being in a restaurant high chair.
