What to do with the kids near Wall St?

I told DH he could pick what we did for father's day this year. He wants us to spend the day in NYC, and he wants to go to the 9/11 memorial. Depressing way to spend Father's Day, but BIL is FDNY and was on the scene that day and the weeks after. He survived but many in his engine company did not. So DH, myself, our 2 boys, BIL, SIL and their 4 kids are all going to go down there for father's day. We have tickets for 10 AM, and then we figured we would get lunch and spend the afternoon doing something fun with the kids. There will be 6 kids, the oldest 7 and the youngest 3 months. Anything fun in the downtown area? I know Central Park would be a great thing to do that day, but who wants to trek 6 small kids to the other end of Manhattan? Any family friendly restaurants for lunch as well? TIA!

There are some fun parks over on the West Side, by the Battery. The seaport isn't open yet (I don't think)

As for lunch, there is a good amount of things if you go a touch north and stay on West Broadway.
