Slower weight gain ...

My DD (who is EBF) just had her 6 month appt and weighed 15 lbs 7 oz. (36th percentile). At her 4 month appt, she weighed 14 lbs, 7 oz. (68th percentile). So that's only 1 lb gain in two months! The ped was not concerned - said it was totally fine.

At the time of the appt, I had not realized it was only 1 lb (I didn't remember the exact weight of the previous appt until I looked it up when I got home). Now I'm concerned. I do plan to put a call into the doc tomorrow to further discuss this, but I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience to shed some light ...

ETA: She is 27 1/2 in. which is the 90-something percentile (she grew an 1.5 in from last appt). For whatever that's worth!

If the ped isn't concerned then I wouldn't worry about it. DD is very petite and never gained a lot between visits. Other than her newborn visit , she was never even on the charts. She is almost 5 and weighs only 29lbs when she should be close to 40 or so. Around 2.5 yrs old she did have some bloodwork done but everything came back normal. She is just tiny.

I wouldn't worry. My DS dropped to the 5th percentile at some point and has hung out there since. Dr isn't concerned at all. I guess I just have a skinny kid ( that loves to eat).

DS gained about 2 pounds from the 4 to 6 month appointments so don't stress.

Weight gain usually slows down a bit around that time since they're more active and burn more calories crawling, rolling, and jumperoo-ing
