Rear Facing Car Seat-Which do you use
We are making the switch from infant carrier to car seat
Please recommend your REAR facing car seat to me.
We just bought an ARGOS Crest 3 in 1 car seat and found out it won't fit rear facing.
I thought all car seats would just fit rear facing. Wrong.
We have a 4 door sedan.

I have a recaro como convertible. so she was rear facing from 6m to a little past 2yrs and she's still forward facing in the same seat. considering how much they cost I wanted a long time use out of it!

I too have the Britax Marathon. I am actually installing it this weekend. My sister has one as well and she loves it. Says it was very easy to install.

The seat you got doesn't rearface because it is a combo seat and not a convertible carseat! Combo seats transition from a forward facing carseat into a booster into a backless booster. Where Convertible carseats will never become a booster and they can rearface or forward face!

I have the Evenflo Symphony 65. Love it
This is what i have for ds and will be getting for dd when I switch her. It is the only seat you will ever need. Rear facing up to 40 pounds, forward facing with harnesses up to 65 pounds and can be used as a high back belt positioning booster up to 100 pounds. The head rest is adjustable, it is super easy to install and the straps are easy to adjust because there is no rethreading necessary. It expires 8 years after manufacture date.

The Argos is a Nautilus with a no rethread harness and higher weight limit. It is not a rear facing seat. No matter how hard you try, it will never work. This seat is a 3 in 1 combination seat. It goes from a forward facing harness seat to a high back booster to a no back booster.
You need a convertible seat. Convertible seats go from RF to FF.
Look at seats like the Graco MySize70/Size4Me, Britax Marathon/Boulevard, Evenflo Symphony, Diono Radian

This is what leads people to buy 8 year old Britax seats off of Craigslist over buying a comparably priced brand new seat which is not expired and JUST AS SAFE as any Britax out there. Seats that are easier to use, easier to install and have cool fabrics that are niche products will ALWAYS appeal to the techs/car seat geeks.

I said why "I" would get the Foonf!! I NEVER said this is a MUST have seat, that this seat is SAFER than any other seat or anything like that!!! Someone asked why I would get it and I stated MY reasons!!! The fact alone that you can keep your child RFing in this seat longer than any other by weight/height is a HUGE plus for me as I am an advocate for extended RFing so right there this seat is at a huge advantage for ME!! If someone is going to spend $300 on a Britax, whats another $100 on a Foonf when it'll enable extended RFing. Again JMO, and why I would choose the Foonf!!
ETA- AND a seat thats easier to install is MORE likely to be installed correctly and therefore used correctly EVERY TIME!! Therefore making it safer for your child!!

Thanks for responding. I've been looking into both this seat and the Britax Pavilion. I know the Foonf is the longest rear facing seat currently on the market, and I read about the REACT technology, plus I think it looks really cool, but I don't know anyone who has it to hear first-hand reviews. I thought I'd def be getting a Britax, but now I'm all about the Foonf!

But you are stating that Foonf's claims on the REACT technology are fact, and the way you stated it leads readers to believe that these seats ARE safer. They are claims. Period. We don't know that it will actually reduce forces any more than we know what the benefits of SICT on the Britax really are etc. The only FACT is that they passed the same test as a $40 Cosco Scenera.
My point is, people read posts like yours and start feeling guilty that they can't afford to buy 3 Foonfs, Britax, Diono etc for all their cars and that is when they turn to Craigslist and yard sales and start buying them used because they can get 3 for the price of one and then their kids will be safe in "the best" seat (granted, the Foonf just came out AND it's a niche seat so it's unlikely you'll find one on CL, but there are a ton of $40 Britax to be had).
The Foonf is a cool seat, it's also a status symbol. At 17.5", it's highest harness position is on par with other seats and it's RF weight is only 5lbs/10lbs more than many seats which are usually outgrown by height before weight. Clek follows the 1" rule in regards to height for RF. Another reason techs love Clek is because of how responsive they are to suggestions from techs.
And easier to INSTALL doesn't always translate to easier to USE. I have helped PLENTY of parents during checks and here with easy to install Britax seats that they can't even tighten the harness on.................. And on the flip side, I've seen plenty of Sceneras installed incorrectly but with properly tightened harnesses. Ease of install and ease of use are not mutually exclusive

My apologies for forgetting to put that Foonf CLAIMS that the REACT technology.....in my original post!!
Would you like me to edit my first response where I stated why "I" would choose a Foonf? Would that make you feel better??
And as you stated, the Clek is a new seat so nobody is buying them used right now off of CL. So luckily my statement won't have the masses searching the internet for them!!
And I had to laugh at your "status symbol" comment
 come on! Do really believe that someone is going to buy a car seat as a status symbol?? That's by far one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a long time!! Why yes, everyone come check out the very expensive seat I bought. It has nothing to do with safety! I just bought it to look cool!!
And I also think its funny how you blast me for recommending a seat that's $$$$, meanwhile in your previous post, you recommended she check out the Britax and Radian which are both $$$$.
