We just switched to 2% when DD turned 2. I told the nurse at the dr's office and she said that's fine. I thought I had remember them saying whole milk until 2.

When DD turned 2..........then we switched over to 1%. Our ped recommends switching over from whole milk at age 2 so we did.

My twins are 2.5 and the ped never said anything about switching them so they are still getting it.

I don't plan on giving my kids anything but whole milk. Milk is a great source of healthy fats.

My kids are not obese, so they will drink whole.

My DS is 2+ and is still getting whole milk. I have no plans to switch him and he gets 2 full sippy cups a day.

Ok, good. My ped had said to switch her a 2 but she is so skinny and I figure she needs all the extra fat she can get since she is a horribe eater. Thanks!

Switched DS from whole to 2% at age 2. Ped said we could do skim. Whole milk is important through age 2 bc the body needs the extra fat for myelination (fatty sheath that covers the axon, part of a neuron). After age 2 though you can decrease the fat thus the switch to low fat/skim milk.
