My oldest was 2.5 & youngest was just shy of 2. We had no choice bc both your continuously climbing out in the night & I did not want them getting hurt

DD is almost 21 months and i have no plans to convert until she starts trying to climb out

DS is only 10 months but i was wondering the same thing bc hes starting to try to climb out. My sister changed her sons at 1 and a half because he was climbing out

We moved DS into a Toddler Bed at 22 months. We just felt he was ready, no other reason....he never climbed out or even tried to.

We only had him in the Toddler bed for about 6 months and then moved him into a full size bed.

DD was 26 months and went from crib straight to twin bed.

The only reason we switched was because DD2 needed the crib. DD1 would probably still be in a crib if we didn't have the baby. Much easy to put her in for naps when she couldn't get out.

My DS is 28 months and still in his crib. We are switching him into a twin bed once we find a daybed that we like, though. The only reason we are taking him out of the crib is because we need his for one of the twins. He has never tried to climb out or anything. If your DD is sleeping well and isn't climbing out, I would keep her in the crib for as long as you can!

we went right from crib to full size at 28 months. i felt he needed more room. i was SO worried he would get out of bed but he never once did. we just didn't put the idea in his head.

My kid is 3 and still in a crib! She has never tried to climb out!

32 months and still in crib. He hasn't tried to climb out. We will prob convert it soon just because he is getting big to lift in and out!

We converted at 22 months. I fully intended to wait longer, but he started climbing out of the crib. I would wait as long as you can.

My girls started climbing at around 14 months and the day they climbed out of the crib was the day it went into a toddler bed. However, ever since then they don't use their toddler bed at all, they always sleep on the floor or on the couch that is in their room. I tried making more inviting with a foam mattress topper and nice soft blankets etc but no, they prefer the leather couch LOL

We moved Ds when he was around 1 and a half...he always wanted to go in and out of the crib so the toddler bed gave him the freedom to do it

My DS hated his crib, so we converted at 18 months he is doing pretty well with the change,

Good question! I was wondering same thing. My DS is 35 months and still in a crib. He has never tried to climb out and loves his crib. But I feel he is ready to move on.

DDs 22 months & still in a crib. I'd like to keep her in it as long as possible.

16 mos. at pediatritians rec. She saw how agile he was and said better that he roll off a toddler bed than climb and fall from a crib rail.

i want to say 13-14 months, but don't remember exactly.
i was tired of hearing DS hit his head on the railing multiple times a night (and yes, i was the evil mom who used bumpers. did not help)
DS moves around in his sleep all the time and he is big for his age so he needed the extra room. it's amazing what one less side can do!

21 months.
She climbed out once and believe it or not I don't think she realized what she was doing.
I converted the next AM.

We never did toddler beds. All 3 of my kids went straight to twin beds.

#1- switched at 17 months when we needed the crib for her baby sister.

#2- switched at 15 months. She hated her crib and screamed every time she was placed in it. We made the switch and she was so much happier and slept so much better.

#2- switched at 18 months. He was climbing out of his crib.

2y3m, but that was because DS1 hated the crib and wouldn't sleep in it. We've should've converted it earlier. He loved his bed.

about 2.5 ... so he can wake up, grab a muffin, his water cup, play and not wake us


we have a modern crib, that you need to be 4' to climb out of. I was planning to keep him in there till he potty trained for night. but I really like the bit of extra sleep.

DD never tried to get out, so we never converted it. I preferred knowing she was in. I wouldn't have been a fan of her up and roaming if I was sleeping. She just needed more space, so we then bought a full size twin bed which she went in to and is currently in. It's her big girl furniture.

20m we got her a toddler bed. The crib conversion was too high for my comfort.

ETA: she never climbed out or complained. I just got tired of bending over the rail. It was annoying. We just moved into our new house so I got her tinkerbell sheets and that was it. THIS is your bed kiddo. Done.

If they are sleeping well in the crib don't mess with a good thing! We had to move my daughter at age 2 into a bed when my son was a few months and she has never slept the same. I wish i would have just bought or borrowed another crib. She wasn't ready and it has created poor sleep patterns:(She's now 4!
