Nursing in public
So this is my third baby. I nursed my first 2 till at least a year. I have never used my nursing cover nor have I ever nursed in public.... Until today. I am sitting at the park using my nursing cover and feeding my 8w old. I'm not exactly sure why I've never done this before but it's not as bad or hard as I thought.
Did/do you nurse in public? Did you feel like people were uncomfortable?

I nursed three kids everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Anywhere I would give a baby a bottle, I would nurse. I am a HUGE advocate of NIP.... And now that I am no longer a nursing mama, I always say "Good for you!" to women who are nursing in public places. YOU GO GIRL!!!

FTM here and I nurse wherever I have to with a cover: in the shoe section at a store, at restaurants, on the train, in church, at the park. I've never had anyone blatantly stare or comment so my experiences have been positive. I was self-conscious in the beginning, but at 9 months now, DD is pretty efficient and is usually done in under 10 minutes.

I nursed anywhere and everywhere. There were Times I didn't have a nursing cover and still nursed. When my baby wad hungry, I nursed her.

I nursed at a restaurant once. It was no big deal. I plan on doing it again this weekend. I never use a cover.

I FF my son bc BF didnt work out but my SIL BF'ed and she publically fed all the time, I would too. She covers herself up (usually lol) and I see nothing wrong with it, baby has to eat.

if we were would and the baby needed to eat i would nurse him. i did go into a bathroom stall once at a restaurant though. i didn't think others wanted me to do it at the table. at the mall or outlets i just sat on a bench though. always covered.

I did.
It wasn't bad.
Used a cover up.
Was nervous about it til I went on a trip to Vermont & everyone in a diner was breastfeeding without a cover up!

It wasn't my favorite thing to do, but I would nurse wherever I needed to, including public places. I always used a cover though - only because it made ME feel more comfortable. I never felt like anyone even noticed.
I'm always happy to see moms BFing their kids in public and I try to give a knowing smile.

ve always nursed wherever I needed to. I think in the first few weeks with my first baby, I avoided NIP, just because it was all so new to me and I was a little uncomfortable, but I got used to it very quickly. I usually cover up as best I can when in public. I've never noticed anyone feeling uncomfortable.

I have NIP almost everywhere, almost always without a cover but always discreetly and in a secluded location. You could barely tell. I nursed in a bathroom stall when very young but it was gross, baby flipped out every time a toilet flushed and I swore never to use a bathroom again. chair turned against the wall, dressing room, etc but never again a bathroom.

I couldn't do it with my first, and I didn't nurse her for very long either.
With my second, I had more of an "EFF YOU my baby is hungry and it's hot out" attitude so I nursed in public, sometimes with my cover and sometimes without.

I NIP! I think the person who is most uncomfortable is my husband, lol.
I never use a cover.
If ppl are uncomfortable, they can shove it. 
ETA: It is our legal right in NYS to nurse anywhere we are legally allowed to be. In lots of other states too.

I have but it makes me uncomfortable, mainly becuase DH is so bothered by it. If HE didn't make it such a big deal then I would be way more comfortable. I hate that he's so against it because I really see no issue with it. I usually try to go to the car, which is annoying. If I have no choice though I try to cover with a blanket as best as I can without suffocating the baby.

I BF for 19 months and probably nursed my daughter in every kind of public place imaginable (well, child-appropriate places). At the mall, Starbucks, the library, the park, restaurants, high holy day services, in secluded spots, out in the open, whatever comfortable spot we could find when she was hungry. Never used a nursing cover, but wore nursing tanks underneath my shirt. Nobody ever seemed bothered by it and if they were they were smart enough to keep their thoughts to themselves.

Yes, but I use a cover. I don't care if other people don't but I'm not comfortable with not using one. I cover up in my own home if I have visitors over. Just how I am....
Now that I have twins coming I hope the cover still works.....

I did out of desperation on a plane...DS was 14 months old. Next child I'll NIP whenever, can't believe I was so shy to do so with him, feel so stupid! NIP was a lifesaver on that flight!

I did a little when DD was small. I nursed in restaurants or at parties a few times but other than that I usually nursed her in the car. Once she hit about 6 months it was impossible to get her to nurse out of her normal places. She's WAY too nosy!
