 Newborn photographer question
Did you tip?
Edit: if you did, and are comfortable with sharing, how much?
  Thanks

 Newborn photographer question
I haven't done this yet but our friend is doing the photos. I'll probably get her a gift as a thank you.
If it is a company and the photographer owns the company then I wouldn't tip, they pocket your money anyway. If it is a company and someone is sent from the company (not an owner) then yes, I would tip. It's my general rule of thumb with everything.

 Re: Newborn photographer question
If its the photographer them self then no. The only time I would is if you won a session because you know they donated it. Not necessary but a nice gesture. And recommend them. That's the best tip of all ;)

 Newborn photographer question
As a newborn photographer I sometimes do and sometimes don't. Depends on the family. I own a small business and do this on the side vs fill time so my prices aren't outrageous. I know some people pay over 1k for newborn photos. Most own their own small business. It's nice but not a necessity!

 Newborn photographer question
Thanks - just curious of the norm. I tipped my wedding photog and he owned his own business.

 Re: Newborn photographer question
As a photographer, I've had people try to give me tips - I won't accept. I'd rather the recommendation to friends and family - that means so much more than a tip.

 Re: Newborn photographer question
Photographer here as well! Most people do not tip for photography services. However, many clients whom we have gone above and beyond for have tipped us in various ways to show their appreciation. Although it wasn't expected, it was super sweet! Sometimes its a little extra, sometimes it's something yummy in the mail! Just a few weeks ago, I had a newborn client who owned a famous pickle shop in NYC/Coney Island. They sent me a few jars of their different varieties of pickles! Oddly enough, this has been my favorite "tip" hahaha! BEST.PICKLES.EVER and the key to a preggo girl's heart!!!! It is so nice when people send their baby's birth announcement of images that I took with a heartfelt thank you! I would definitely recommend doing that! A tip is not common or necessary though!
