That person was a total tw@t!

No wonder NY gets a bad rap for rudeness!

I was hoping we could dub her 'snatchface'

Snatchface is definitely appropriate!

Maybe she was holding her throat because she was about to vomit her douche-baggy-ness all over and you got it.

She sucks, you rock. Someone needs to throw a snowball at her whack ass.Chat Icon

You were ABSOLUTELY not wrong for going back . I would have done the same thing, and probably would have been just as offended..

But just know that you did the right thing and they were probably just either having a miserable day or are mentally unstable..

Sorry you had to go through this!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

You did a nice thing. She probably had a miserable day (or a miserable life) and just took it out on you.

I'm sorry that happened. Shake it off and don't let it dissuade you from being the concerned and loving person that you are in the future. Chat Icon

this..i am going to say she is a douche

Exactly. She sounds a bit imbalanced.

I don't think you were wrong to try & help her, but I can understand her reaction.

I was having a quiet panic attack in Stabucks & the employee sweeping the floor asked if I was ok, and it annoyed me because of the state I was in. I just ignored her & stared at my phone waiting for my DH to text me back.

I know it was rude, but I couldn't let anyone else into my world at the time.

I totally understand that, but it's not like they're mindreaders and knew that you were having a silent panic attack. And in the same vein, if someone really did need help, and none was offered, we'd never heard the end of it.

Sounds like she has been off her meds for awhile.

That's so nice that you actually said something.

Oh, I know. The Starbucks girl probably thinks I am a huge b!tch, but what I am saying is that that was just a bad moment, not the big picture, as may have been the case with the subway lady.

I HAVE needed help and none was given to me. I fainted on the 7 train once when I first started my job years ago. I was sick, but still on my 90 day probationary period and couldn't call in, though they sent me right home once they saw the condition I was in. People actually stepped OVER me to get off the train. One person finally helped, but dozens didn't even blink an eye. A few weeks ago I had a bad asthma attack in the elevator bank at my office. I was bent over, gasping for breath, one hand on my knee, the other hand ripping my scarf and jacket off. One of the attorneys who sits right near me, sees me everyday, walked past me to get on the elevator. Someone else came by and asked me if I was okay. I was, I just needed to get to my pump. Once I had that it was fine, but geez people suck. I know I appreciated it both times when someone finally stopped to ask or help. For that reason, I *always* ask people if they're okay if they looked distressed. Luckily, I've never gotten an answer that nasty, usually just ignored or a gruff "I'm fine."

That is AWFUL. People are so inconsiderate, there's NO compassion for others. People really do suck.

Thanks! I know I will NEVER forget how that felt. I actually knew I was going to faint before it happened (started sweating, hearing/vision going) and I said it out loud "I'm going to faint." Nobody offered a seat or anything and I hit the floor.
